My heart, BS2 MP was the best shit ever.
Even with the OP combo everyone used.
One-shotting cbow shitters from across the maps with the elephant gun and out-skilling homing shitters with bouncing AOE grenade damage was the fucking best.

>OP combos
I dunno about that shit but I had two approaches:

>Sit in a room with only one or two entrances and put electrified traps under the doorways--this always instant-killed players. I had the passive Eve recovery to keep doing it forever.

>Houdini+Freeze, with the tonics for Backstabber and longer Houdini. I'd swap to this loadout any time anyone became a Big Daddy and I'd sit around a corner, use Houdini, freeze them from behind and hammer until they died. Backstabs on Big Daddies took out about a third of their health, shit was so cash

I enjoyed that multiplayer verily.
Fuck niggas with the Bees though.

Electro bolt + Cbow and headshot buff = free kills
Electro bolt never got the nerf it needed for stun time.
And cbow + buff = 1HK for headshots
Not sure how you never experienced this enough to remember it.
>>
>>335883603
damage buff*
>>
>>335883603
Oh, yeah, I'd been one-shot by crossbows before but since my strategy was typically more hiding and lurking around, I wasn't sniped in most matches.

I remember that one circular map where you could spring up to little high-nested windows and snipe people. I'd always check for snipers up there, or on other similar popular balconies.
>>
>>335883603
If you let a dude run up on you and hit you with Electro Bolt, you were probably dead anyway.

What frustrated me is that Backstabber had no practical use outside of ganking Big Daddies. Even with the Sports Boost, you couldn't reliably catch up to any player on the move and when it came to immobile players you didn't need the Backstab to kill them anyway.
>>
>>335883920
>little high-nested windows
Farmer's Market?
The one where a lot of the action would boil down the stair-case in the middle?

And the annoying ass turret to the side that would always be camped by a shitter?
>>335884058
Electro Bolt has good range though, and BS maps were pretty close quartered as it is.
I backstabbed a fair bit, but yeah it happened more for spawn mishaps/AFK/ and people who were camping and unaware of shortcuts.

There were a lot of niche loadouts you could play for fun. Shame it was rarely fun with everybody either on the cbow or machine gun.

>>

Unfortunately 2K and all their retarded fanboys are convinced BioShock 2 is a piece of shit while 3 is some kind of masterpiece.
>>
>>335884829
Yeah, what the fuck.
>>
>>335884843
Well BS2's campaign was shit compared to 1, and I'll even defend 3 even though it didn't have anyone close to Augustus "HAND FULL OF HELLFIRE" Sinclair
And 3 was going to have like three MP modes but they got scrapped fairly early on.

2K have said Bioshock isn't "officially" dead though, but we all know to not trust any thing publishers say.
>>
>>335883349
when I tried it, it felt awful on 360 just very janky and underproduced compared to the amazing campaign

I assume it was a lot better on PC
>>
>>335884632
i dont think it will ever go lower, it took me forever for me just find the bioshock 2 dlc on any kind of sale so last year i just said fuck it and got the triple pack and infinity season pass for 20 bucks and called it a day.
>>
>>335885013
>it felt awful on 360
It took getting used to, I know it's a shitty excuse but it was a little janky, but really fun nonetheless.
And it's non-existent on PC due to P2P.
>>
>>335884347
It's a tutorial for something that isn't in the game. That's how big of a mess bioshock inf is.
I hate it, i hate the fact that a lot of people love it even more.
>>
>>335884632

Yeah wtf is up with that. I have no desire to play Infinite again and wasn't thrilled after reading about the new Rapture stuff but I still probably would have bought it by now if it went on sale for $5 like every other Bioshock game.
>>
>>335884583

What purpose was that? I still don't get the pic, can someone explain?

Same happened with Borderlands 2 and Dishonored.

>You're not allowed to love bad games.
Dark Sector didn't win any awards and by most things is a terrible game, but it's one of my favorites still.
>>335885313
I have no idea, it's just an educated guess from how out of place it is, and how much dev-hell BSI went through.

>>
>>335885478

>I'm saying bad games shouldn't be a critical hit.
BSI was hardly a critical hit.
If I game can't survive relevancy past its release 15 minutes, it's not a hit.
>>
>>335885347
devs and publishers set the prices and amount of discount. if you think bethesda and 2k are bad just look up price histories of call of duty games.
>>
>>335884238
Yeah, Farmer's Market. I wasn't a big fan of that map. My sneaky bullshit shenanigans usually worked for the best in the hydroponics area with all the plants and in the zone that had a sort of movie-theater aesthetic. That one had the statue of the octopus, I think?

I enjoyed the Boiler Room map a lot, too.

I recall a lot of people using the grenade launcher.

I also really enjoyed the splicers you could play as. Each of them had some character quirks that were fun to discover.
>>
>>335885709
>That one had the statue of the octopus
Point Prometheus?
Phew that map was hell.
Hephaestus was fun shit though.
Everyone clusterfucking in the vending machine room and endlessly dying for turret control.
>>
>>335884994

Bioshock infinte is the proof that muh big twists and overcomplicated plots make a game great.

Bs2 story is pretty straight forward, no twists, no reveals, with great characterization and great interactions, and much better gunplay than bs1.
>>
>>335885013
I played it on playstation.
It was pretty fast paced and fun for me, from what I recall. The more exciting bits reminded me of playing Unreal Tournament a little.

I think a lot of people complained it was tacked on but I have more fond memories of the multiplayer than the actual game.

It got rave reviews, it's awful.
People said the story was so deep, it's awful.
People fucking swoon over the sky bitch, she is stupid and I hate her.

I can never figure out what people like in the game, nothing is good.
I really hate this game.
>>
>>335885835
Yeah, Point Prometheus. It had a lot of little nooks and crannies as well as big, long shooting galleries and balconies and shit--if I remember it right.

That said, Hephaestus was super fun. The room where the Big Daddy Suit spawned had several entrances but all the key points of control on the map were far from that area.

For some reason, I don't recall playing there too often. It feels like I was in the Docks and Fisheries for fucking ever online.
>>
>>335885839
>Bioshock infinte is the proof that muh big twists and overcomplicated plots make a game great.
The twists hardly made BSI great.
The Lutece's, Fink and the few decent characters and the over-all adventure did.
And BS2 only had Sinclair and I guess Eleanor but it just felt forced to me.

Didn't have its Steinman or Cohen or any other memorable character.
And say what you want, but Ryan was atleast a solid antag whether you like the twist or not. Lamb was a joke.
>>335885958
"Journo's and e-celebs opinions mean nothing.
>>
>>335885313

Perhaps the game was going to have future implications of the meaning of the key, sword and,i dont remember the other, in the story. But got scrapped

Bioshock infinite lacks focus and theme. Every 3 chapters the game would completelly change focus, without no proper conclusion or development for the themes of the chapters before:

>muh american history and roots
>racism is bad
>muh super science
>muh actually humans are assholes and the victims of racism can be jerks too
>muh ignore all that and parallel universes
>>
>>335886043
Yeah, maps tended to go to Fort Frolic, Kasmir, and Medical more than most.
I barely got to even play the DLC maps and they were better than the originals.

I find it hard to believe that anyone who would possibly be interested in Bioshock haven't played the games yet.

This is just another redundant last gen remaster that's cheaper and less riskier than making NEW GAMES.
>>
>>335886121
BSI was more focused on the Irish than Blacks if you payed close attention which is kind of funny.
Besides Daisy's generic character, the game barely made it a point more than /v/ and /v/'s enemies did.
>>
>>335886121

Although I just knew after playing for like 2-3 hours.. Shit was disappointing.

Elizabeth was cool though, I guess.
>>
>>335886056

Holy shit, i meant that twists DONT make games great, sorry. I dont defend BI in any form (Maybe Except visual)

I dont have the video here, but that Black chick reaction when you dont kill her is more meaningful than all of Bioshock infinite. Eleanor Mother actually made you hate her guts. That fucking mini story told over the audio logs about a father looking for his daugther and the ending of said story

Mark Meltzer, man
That shit hit me.

People shit on Bioshock 2 for being an unnecessary retread of Rapture, but I feel like it improved every aspect of the gameplay while telling some interesting stories.

I think what it lacked were the set-pieces that Infinite had. Which, frankly, was one of the only worth-a-shit improvements Infinite brought to the franchise, while everything else was two steps backwards.

People felt done with Rapture, I guess.

I'm the motherfucker who liked 2 so much that I bought into the Infinite Hype from the second it was only rumors and images floating around online. I even got the collector's edition that came with the Skybird, who has a great design. Here I was, like a rube, believing the Skybird would be akin to Resident Evil's Mr. X or Nemesis--a big unkillable fucker who would randomly swoop down or crash through a wall or stalk you through the streets and provide tension throughout the game.

Instead, we got two scripted cutscenes. It's less of a character than the banker whose name I can't even recall. What a piece of shit.

Eh, it's not a competitive FPS. It's a fun little video game, man.

I wouldn't play Counterstrike or Quake on a console, but shit like Halo and Bioshock feels fine there.

I'm probably a pleb, though. I'd rather have games on console than on PC if they have better controls for console. For RTS and most Shooters, I'd be on PC, but for action games and RPGs and shit, I stick to console.

This guy is Nate Wells, the guy in charge of art faggotry in most games made by Irrational Games. Shit like Thief 1 and 2, SWAT4, System Shock 2 and Bioshock.
He resigned from Irrational Games during the development of Bioshock Infinite and moved to Naughty Dog and helped them with Last of Us instead.
Turns out he left because Levine was a huge fucking faggot that kept rewriting the story so the art team had to redo all their shit to fit in the new rewrite. One story he mentioned was how they were working on Shantytown and made the place full of colorful ragtag shit to offset the fact that the place is the slums. They worked on it for months and Levine never said anything, never corrected them. Then one day he said it needed to be changed to a dark, gloomy, and mucky shithole so that the area would show the dark side of Columbia.
