I think that nanotechnology in Deus Ex is primarily meant to make you pass as human so that you're useful for recon or talking to people instead of genociding everything like Gunther would because nobody likes augs so he's useless at getting information out of people or infiltration, due to that you don't get wacky OP augs like parachute from infinite heights, metal muscles capable of punching through wall and something that would require look less human and more like Omar from Invisible War, when you play on Realistic or Hardcore(GMDX mod) you pretty much die in few shots without anti-ballistic augs and vest while NSF troops say that Gunther took a whole clip and it didn't even fazed him, JC is the Rogue, Gunther is the Warrior and Jensen something in between, the more human you want to look the less drastic augs you take otherwise you end up looking simiarly to Omar when having firepower as Gunther, he's crude and powerful, JC is more advanced and delicate and compensate for the lack of drastic augs with actual SKILLS and PERKS(again GMDX)

Deus Ex aged pretty badly imo
Feels like more of the same. Another UNATCO. Another Gunther/Navarre type character. Another level with "terrorists" that you can choose not to kill and a terrorist leader that's morally superior to the suits and you probably end up teaming up with. This feels like a fan made game and not a worthy successor, much like HR was.
I wish they took some chances with it and changed more rather than just giving more weapons, more augs and more of the same type of story.

I think you can infer that I was excluding them. The main point is that very few were augmented in DX and they were UNATCO agents who gave normal people the heebee jeebies or some shit. by DX1 there's a massive financial crisis and very few people not already working in clandestine government operations can afford to keep their prescription topped up. You'd be wrong about that. Russians have a very distinct accent, to the point that even the rhythm of their speech is different. Czechs sound more like the Polish and their accent is much less noticeable when they speak in a foreign language.
Czech (Western Slavic) and Russian (Eastern Slavic) sounds as different as English and Norwegian (both Germanic languages, but hardly the same).
