That's pretty much backwards. Checkers is the one where you see the same situations and positions more. Chess openings are really linear but diversify exponentially as the game goes on.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core +R is the best game in the series, but its relatively old. As an anime game, that basically means that no one really plays it anymore, sadly enough. If the netcode was decent on any version of the game, we might still have a fair amount of players, but unless you live near a local scene, you are probably shit outta luck.
Xrd Revelator is coming out soon, so I'd say pirate Xrd -SIGN- to get some practice in, then get Revelator if you really wanna get into it.
