Its a very good mechanic honestly. It seems to be harder as you go up in level and revenants feel unique from each other. Use his size/speed to your advantage. Don't face tank but don't be afraid to go close to his body, use stronger attacks and don't forget you can block a fair amount of his attacks.
Summoning also makes the boss stronger I believe. Once you figure out how to punish him properly you'll find it a lot easier

The only thing that needs fixing to me is the lock on system cause it like the game encourages you to get into one on one duels and strafe and move around slowly and counter and parry, but the lock on system need to be similar to demon souls with its circle strafing when locked on and you van run away when you hold run button .

Here is a good strat for the boss. Hug that mother fuckers side like your are made of glue. Block those swinging chain attacks. Keep wailing on him and using Ki Pulse to regain stamina. When he gets to the second phase bait him into throwing those balls across the ship. When he does his walk cycle to pick them up attack him. When he goes after you avoid him. Easy peasy
Can anybody confirm this? I'm using the wind talisman on my spear and it seems to have extended range and lessen the consumption of my ki meter.

Is there a better path to take to get towards the back of the burning village? It looks like I have to go through some flames to get to another segment that is near the tower I can see by the edge of the wall. Those flames just tear my health apart, though.

Nue is actually way easier than I thought he would be. It's a really intimidating fight but if you just watch them for a bit you realize that his attacks are really easy to dodge and then if you hit him in the face when doing the lighting breath, he just can be stunlocked as long as you have Ki or living weapon.

Also, any tips for fighting those dual wielding Oni? I know I can technically skip him if I circle around to the back of the village, but I'd like to git gud at fighting them. They almost always dance or flip away right as I'm repositioning myself after their attacks.
What is the use of sword ki? I'm not talking about the ki pulse for regaining stamina/ki, I'm talking about the unlockable combo move that makes the sword flash. It says it stuns enemies in a radius but it doesn't do anything at all to those dwellers or the demon enemies. And as for stun the kick does the same thing to humans and knocks them further back while doing damage and ki damage. In a group fight you're better off luring them to a bottleneck than risking that shitty move. That low stance heaven attack that makes you jump up and slash down is useless too. Some enemies can continue moving and be out of the way as you come down with the slash and it only works if you're right up in their face when you do the input. Better off just doing more normal attacks instead of using that one.

Sword Ki is an AOE kick that does slightly less damage, you pop it when you are surrounded but kick is superior on virtue of being spammable
Low Stance heaven attack is a gap closer since your combo strings knocks them out halfway.

The Ki pulse move doesn't do much damage, but its used to drain the enemy ki therefore effectively putting them in stun state so u can cut their penises off.
