I figured that out with the individuals but once he went all fire-mode he left very little window to even get a good strike let alone a good backstab window.
Granted I was still sticking to my damn Claymore at the time which proved completely useless with its horribly slow movements and minimal damage outpu. Ironically I got a Dark Sword drop not 10 minutes later outside that very boss battle helping others as a sunbro.

I've seen it stagger some enemies but it seems to only stagger if you've done a few hits but that could have just been lag. It's nice to still do damage and backstep if whoever your fighting manages to have a really close up power attack. The timing is also a bit weird which makes the '2-3 hits and they start to parry spam to stop you' have less chance of grabbing you.

Why should i as a host run after an invader and risk dying when i can just wait out their timer? I know they have to come after to me and my 3 phantoms at some point otherwise they lose.
You see the problem here? If invaders didn't have timers they would be the ones in the driver seat. The host would have an incentive to hunt down and kill the invader making invasions more fun and dynamic, it also allows the invader to set up traps in the level while they wait for the host. Long invasions were the most tense parts of Dark Souls 1.

The majority of souls players have a critical lack of braincells at all points in the game.
It never stops being surprising how people at the end of the game can still behave like they had only just started playing. There's not even an excuse against low level invaders in DaS3 because they have literally nothing even going for them.

There's the roll-happy ones who freak out as soon as you touch them and waste all their stamina rolling away so all you have to do is time your hits correctly.
There's the people who try to spam their attacks and just sort of pray to whatever god they believe in that the attack will land. Theses ones are also easy to counter with a little timing.
There's the people who cannot fight at all so because they're so used to hiding behind phantoms but as soon as you get them alone they shit the bed.
And there's the folks who try to have some sort of janky build that if you counter the one thing they're focused on trying to do their whole plan falls apart.

You have to learn when to run away. I killed a host and three phantoms by never engaging them directly. I'd just pester them every now and again, chucking fireballs or pretending i was coming in for an attack when they were fighting other enemies, and disengage whenever they'd try to come attack me, going to hide amongst some enemies or in a spot with a bottleneck or choke point. Eventually they ran out of patience and tried to rush me in an area full of bad guys so they were easy pickings. You'll never out fight a group that large so your only choice is to outwit them.

Most people fuck up watchdogs because they don't equip the covenant until they're in a level range that most people are already through the forest and not planning to go back. Blues are dead because they require level + weapon range AND someone to get invaded while wearing a specific covenant beforehand, and living long enough to constitute summoning you.
Aldritch's area is heavy on PvP so the levels of characters there ranges heavily, which is why it's more busy.

The range from 20 - 35 is working perfectly with farron. Missed it on my first char and made a new one for it.
Works fine. Made a cleric and get almost everytime summoned with another random buddy. He kills the hosts and i'll heal him when he's in a low.
Hosts will chase me when they notice and the other guy has the time to kill.
