The hype is real, glad they look like they're actually focusing on different play styles this time. Not hoping for anything radical, just some more fucking ammo.

Also, fucking hell, in the year of our lord and savior 2011+5, how have we STILL not gotten decent lip sync? There's no faster way for me to be pulled out of an RPG than a character's lips randomly flapping around.

what the fuck is your guy's lapse in memory? deus ex HR had these 'minor choices' where your actions have a small impact at the end of the 'act' you're currently in.

yeah, you can either brutally torture the guy for the information you need, or he'll just tell you it up front, but you still get the fucking information

people need to stop focusing on the idea of "choice" in story, but "choice" in gameplay, the only thing that matters. games are huge things, and having multiple branching story points cost a lot of money. the first deus ex, back in 2000 KNEW THIS and decided to make the linear gameplay done in HUGE areas with tons of ways to play.

I dunno, I loved Human Revolution, but I'm worried that the combat options in this game are going to be pushed way too far into the realms of dumb run-and-gun shooters. They talked about how they wanted to make a lethal playstyle "more satisfying", or whatever, but I think they really just want to make it flashier and easier.

I liked using guns in HR, it felt tactical and deliberate, about using your environment and augs to decide the outcome before you even started shooting. I REALLY don't want this to be a slick cover-shooter where you just soak up bullets and casually waste everyone with your ridiculous homing attacks.

I agree.

Something that really bothers me is seeing all the non-lethal combat augs. I feel like a taser should knock them out for like 10 seconds instead of incapacitating them indefinitely.
