LiEat is several short stories bundled together featuring the main characters. The actual gameplay is incredibly simplistic so the main draw are the slight mystery aspects revolving around lies.
Helen's Mysterious Castle has a unique and fun combat system though difficulty is never really pronounced until end/postgame. Has lore.
Hero and Daughter is a mega RPG lasting dozens of hours featuring multitudes of dungeons, bonus dungeons, and mega grinding systems(levels go past 100 and stats can be boosted permanently through other factors). Also Waifus. The artstyle might not be your thing though. Also everything besides the waifus is literally standard RPGMaker assets. It's not particularly balanced towards strategical play though. Waifu skills are varied and at times extremely broken. I've taken supposed to lose boss battles to 1 HP where it disappointedly turns out they can't die.
Haven't played Machina of the Plant Tree so I can't comment on it, but it looks better than a lot of the trash RPGMaker games on Steam.
Eternal Senia I've heard really good things about and it's free.
You can download LiEat and the non-plus version of Hero and Daughter on VGPerson's site and try them there.
On that note, also try out Faraway Story(also on VGPerson's site), basically an Atelier tier game made in Wolf RPG. It's fantastic.

Rosenkreuzstilette is basically the original "Megaman, but instead with cute girls game". Also one of the first Megaman type doujin games. The other classic is Megamari.
It looks low budget because it was from the time before everybody and their mother was an indie developer making 2D indie platformers.
It's a faithful rendition of Megaman gameplay, from stage design, gameplay, and bosses. It's also an old rendition of old Megaman. Due to that, don't expect too much in the way of not Megaman, you control exactly like Megaman, you got a shot, slide, and jump.
If you've played some of the wackier Megaman romhacks, it might feel pretty basic, but so would regular Megaman. On that note, if you haven't played those wacky Megaman romhacks, give them a try eventually. They're pretty damn amazing.

Depends on how much of the game is talking animu portraits.
A lot of VNs have typical gameplay elements and structures in them, like SRPG gameplay in Utawarerumono for an example.
Of course, in some cases genre boundaries are ambiguous, in which case the developer/publisher should be referred to for anything "official" in the way of classification, though I think simple conjunction of the two genres like "SRPG-VN" is the usual fare.

-Rabi is one big map ala Symphony of the Night, Pharaoh is revisitable levels ala Order of Ecclessia
-Rabi has bullet hell bosses and an MC with a Touhou-sized hitbox, Pharaoh has well thought out level design with random monsters bringing the pain and emphasis of hop 'rolls' with i-frames to avoid getting hurt
-Rabi is constant mixing of range and melee, Pharaoh is 80% melee with the limited use ammo bar depleting items

It's worth it. The story is honestly fairly OC donut steel, but entertaining.
And the combat is pretty fun when you start working with it and figuring out fun shit to do with builds that might not be super strong, but hilarious to play.
