Is the Fallout franchiseoverrated?

The first two ones are not worth playing anymore because of how bad they have aged, NV is going to be fantastic if you like that kind of game, otherwise is going to be bland and boring as fuck

Is like the eternal problem of Obsidian games where their writing can be top notch is just that the gameplay becomes uninteresting quick leading to a lot of boring moments
It's boring for me because i just can't afford to explore the entirety of NV's world, i just feel like i have to sink so much time to explore it fully

Is this series worth playing? I tried other Bethesda games and I can appreciate why people like them but the combat just seemed so clunky and boring that I dropped both oblivion and skyrim.

FO4's combat is the least clunky but you are going to hate the setting. FO1 and 2 are isometric RPGs and, while good for their times, they have aged TERRIBLY
You can try FO4, but, if you are not going to mod then don't even bother, it's objectively a bad game with fun moments, only try if you are really interested, it has a lot of problems

That's only Lonesome Road DLC. The main game story is pretty simple, it's several factions vying for control and the PC explores the world to see how the world would react to each faction... you're really reaching to call it an attempt at being "profound."

Yes. Play the first two games if you're into Infinity Engine RPGs. Fallout: NV is a great followup to those games.
Even the Bethesda games are worth looking into, just don't expect much story or RPG gameplay. They look really pretty and have some memorable moments.

It's a fucking war were most of it's participants are in a gray area, that's not "deep" that's just good writing, like the good writing that doesn't make villains just be plain bad without any motivation or cause, the only DLC's that were maybe a bit deep were Honest Hearts that talked about the redemption of Joshua and Dead Money that talked about how people should learn to leave things behind and not let greed control their actions.

Not the guy you were replying to, but I disagree with most of this. Both stories are very similar, but F2 had a lot more going on that gave you a better feeling for the world. F1 was just Master/Mutants vs the world.
Atmosphere is also about the same for me. F1 really felt like a shitty world that's barely clinging onto civilization, but F2 nailed the Western, rebuilding feel.
F1 wins writing hands down.
Quest variety? Nigga, you serious? F2 had at least twice as many quests and were much more varied. There were fetch quests, political quests, assassination quests, thieving quests, etc. And generally, there were more than one. F1 felt like a quest sampler: one instance of a couple different types of quests, but once you're done, you're done.

I don't see hows that a problem, a lot of people love the Yakuza series and Metal Gear Solid even when it's most of the times cutscenes and exposition dialogue, it doesn't make that bad games, unless you have the atention span of a kid

I was doing a sneaky playthrough with that super hunting rifle paciencia, but because I was shooting at every tribal I saw I ended up shooting follows chalk and blowins his brains out in 1 hit, then I killed graham and daniel and got the map and I thought the dlc was a ripoff, or got bugged

I agree, I could never really get into 2, I get about as far as vault city and then fall off. I guess I just find the Vault narrative more compelling then the tribals and the enclave and stuff, at least at the beginning. It also doesn't help that you start off with shitty weapons.

Obsidian isn't doing the next Fallout. No one at Bethesda has talked to them about it. Either FO5 isn't planned yet or it will be done in house as well.
