Really generic lines, nothing that stands out or is memorable. Rather than a few party members who have a reason to be fighting you get a baker's dozen of boring cutouts who are only fleshed out in sidequests that are far and few between.

They arent nearly as interesting. aside from the ones you mentioned and Lao, they arent that great. XC wii focused on characters, XCX focused on the world design and practice for making an HD game.
