Faster battles are cancer. Medieval 2 had the timing perfect, shotgun 2 was acceptably fast since even samurai had shit for armor.
Attila is pathetically fast, no time for tactics, no time for anything but a huge force of archers to make a difference. It's garbage, I can't at Attila bra cause the battles are over in a heartbeat, I can't even flank before my men take significant losses.

I've played Hannibal Terror of Rome, main campaign for that is a bit slow going so I never got far. Go to the devs site since it's cheaper and they will go on sale at some point, either there or matrix games. Some of it is standalone outside of steam too.
