Playing CoD4 on PC is probably the greatest time I've had in an online game. Whether it's 3tactical5u Hardcore S&D on Wetwork, or 64 man FFA on Shipment, or sniper battles on Bloc, that game was always fun. I just wish I had been older when it came out.

nah. I played a shitload of CoD4 back in the day. The campaign was great in what, 2006? Now it would probably feel somewhat lacking. If they're going to include the multiplayer it's almost guaranteed to be based on one of the more modern CoDs and not actually a straight conversion of CoD4's, which means I could play Advanced Warfare and get the same experience.

People are still playing pro mod in some areas in Russia and in the U.S. This remaster is going to probably be good because of the upgraded visuals and probably revitalize the competitive scene (not the gay ESL/eSports shit). Doesn't Activision want for their new MW game to sell? Or are they losing money in COD and making this last effort ditch? I doubt it.

AAA games can actually be discussed pretty well here every now and again. Halo and Gears have all had a pretty decent mix of good discussion threads and hate threads. CoD and Battlefield have been so-so (the best BF discussion was for BC2which I really don't fucking get) but they haven't had as much vitriol toward them as Assassin's Creed. Not to say that's not deserved though- Activision SERIOUSLY overestimated that franchise's worth.

My only complaint is killstreaks are still a snooze fest why did MW2/1 get them right is beyond me and to top it all off you only get 25 fucking points per kill I know the KS system uses points to get more kill streaks but I mean come on just give me the full 100 and let me earn it over again..

Call of Duty 2 was when the series started going downhill.
CoD 2 introduced recharging health that fucking pulverized the single player balance. In CoD 1/UO 3 Germans could easily fuck up a player and if the player kept fucking up he would eventually find himself without enough health to keep going.
With recharging health though that problem disappeared. To add an even remote challenge the games had to make your allies beyond worthless and infinite waves of enemies and lowered the players health. This was carried into multiplayer meaning low TTK result in a "whoever hits first" game

Honestly my problem is actually health regen itself but what this does to the campaign. Going from advancing at a moderate pace and slowing down to clear a large room because of the potential for 2+ guys in it, it goes from 6 guys who re spawn every time you kill them. After killing 20 people and 6 of your "best of the best commandos" allies lying dead behind the same box, you have finally moved up enough to push the enemy spawn point back a few feet.
Its a terrible experience for a campaign

Care to name a few? If I'm not mistaken, you're severely restricted by the maximal map size the engine will accept. IW even said that after MW2 release, that Overgrown was basically "the limit" that they could squeeze in, while in MW2 it's one of the smaller maps.

it's egregious; it's got the halo sticky-reticle, but it also just glues itself to center of a target when you ADS within auto-aim range. they had to make the auto aim insane for blops 3 because of all the jet-pack wall-running bullshit, but in doing so they literally made a bad player using a controller TREMENDOUSLY better than even really good KBM players. it was fucked.

People that honestly believe COD 4 is the best COD are literally the genwunners of the COD fanbase.
Yes COD 4 gets props for Kickstarting the modern era of COD and how it plays, but so many improvements and advancements have been made since it's not even funny. It's definitely better than some of the newer titles (ghosts comes to mind) but go back and play COD 4. The 3 killstreak system is incredibly stale compared to what later games offer. The perks are unbalanced. Everyone literally just runs into vrowds of people to die so they can drop the grenade on death and get like 4 kills. There's a smaller gun selection, and many of them are completely useless. There's no zombies, no spec Ops, the list goes on and on.

It is Babby's first FPS. It is the game that started the trend of pandering to the player, rather than requiring the player to git gud. Cod1 and Cod2 took so much more skill to play it's hilarious.

Nah mate, there 2875 not-empty servers listed for me right now in CoD4. For WaW it's saddly fucked, where people with legit copies can't play on cracked servers and pirates have to use retarded 3rd party software everytime they try to connect to a server, and that splits the community, but you can still find 200+ non-empty servers up right now.
