Just dug my old 60GB BC ps3 out of storage. Cleaning out 10 years of dust as we speak.
What's the latest cfw and how do you update from a first gen hack (3.55) to the latest? Can you play PS2 ISOs on the BC models?

Interestes in this. I already have a PS3 Slim with all the games I want, but I'm considering a PS3 BC if I can play any/most PS1 PS2 PSP games off the hdd. Please confirm and provide links with info if possible

Seems like you can now boot PS2 games directly without a seperate loader. Also;

I was lucky. Many years ago I worked in a game store.
Some fucko came in to trade in his 60GB console against a new PS3. I took him outside and arranged a direct swap.
Scratched up but still an excellent deal for me.
While the yellow light of death is probably cracked solder (you could try temp fixing it with a heat gun) it also might just be a busted PSU. First gen PSU was a heatbeast.

Think I'll just stay away from online. I don't care about my PSN account but it would devalue the hardware to have it banned. Do they ban you if your console is online but not connected to PSN?
Played the ban game with xboxes for years. It just got tiresome.
