Wrong. You actually get WoD. They've been doing this since Cata though, rolling the previous expac into the base game. Thats why if you buy Classic you get up to MoP, now it goes to WoD.

They've done this for every expansion. Even when Burning Crusade was announced, they offered people a free month for new accounts before the release.
It's real hard to get into a game with like 5 fuckin expansions when you have to buy them all. This is a good business practice.
Why else do you think subs spike at expansion releases?
People cling to free shit then no longer play when they have to pay a monthly fee or are too lazy to farm 20k gold in a month for a wow token.
