Lothric is considered an "aborted" Lord of Cinder. He isn't mentioned in the games' intro with the other 3, he flat-out tells you that he's not a Lord, his Soul tells you that he's not a Lord, Emma tells you that he's not a Lord.
He's certainly got the potential to do it (hence his 2nd phase), since he was raised from birth with that goal in mind. They even prepped a Throne for him in anticipation of his kindling. It doesn't support what you say at all, lothric castle is merely in the same direction as the archives, but seath's archives are right next to the anor londo cathedral where lothric high wall is fucking miles away.
To get to Lothric high wall from Anor Londo you have to go through the catacombs, farron keep, crucifixion woods, road of sacrifices, undead settlement and then hitch a ride from gargoyles to the wall.
To get from Anor Londo to the Duke's Archives you walk for 5 minutes tops.
