What's the best Mega Man Battle Network game?
Star Force 3
>>335711081
MMBN3 or MMBN2
Battle Network 3 Blue. Both 6s are also candidates.
>>335711081
>Be kid me
>play every Megaman, Megaman X and any kind of side scrolling shooter at the time
>Battle Network comes up
>too different of a gameplay design
>random battles
>maps that are nothing more than mazes
>repeat until game is finished
Legit my least favorite robot series.
6 or 5.
>>335711956
6 is boring as fuck.
2
Megaman Star Force 3: Black Ace in particular
>>335712289
you didn't feel the pleasure of battlan other players
Anyway, my favorite is 5 or 6.
3 > 2 > 6 > 1 > 5 > 4
>>335711956
6 is bland as hell and has a ton of gimmicks and filler, I'm convinced that people only put it in league with 2 and 3 because after playing 4/5 they forgot what a good BN game even looks like.
6 did have a good ending though

Ya know I wanted to do that but never was able. I just couldn't find another person with a GBA. I never even got to trade a pokemon back then.
back then, Nintendo was popular, video games were dorky, Now video games are popular, Nintendo is dorky. Can't shake the dorkness.

How is Black Ace better? I got the other version
Battle Network, unlike Pokemon already barely has any reason to come in multiple versions, I still can't believe Capcom tried to hyperjew everyone with THREE versions of Star Force.
>>335713038
Black Ace has a better Noise Finalize (Forgot what those were called).
Sure, Red Joker does 100 more damage, but Black Ace not only does a lot of damage, it also paralizes the opponent.
>>335711081
Two.
>>335711081
MMBN3 by far. Followed closely by Six.
2
3 is in two versions and has its own bullshit, for a less enjoyable story.
3 is perfect except for Press Program
>>335711081
4 Red Sun
>>335711081
2>3>6>5>1>4
>>335715429
Look, I can appreciate your effort to keep a Battle Network thread alive with bait, but seriously, don't even ironically praise that game.
>>335715571
Switch 1 and 5, and you've got a deal.
This one
>>335711081
BN3 Blue.
>>335713195
>they tried to do it again with 2
>stores told them they weren't stocking another set of 3 games, so they had to shove one of the versions into the carts for the other two
>>335716875
Can you pre-order that yet?
>>335711081
Damn... the internet has ruined me. Why is hesuch a cutie?
>>335717495
Anon, you're talking about a baby that died at birth.
3 or 2; the former has more content and general polish, though the latter has less aggravating parts in the maingame and more freedom with fucking everything coming in *. 6 and 5 are good too, the former gets a bit too much praise and the latter a bit too little. 1's clunky and 4's a mess in several ways, but they're both somewhat worth playing I feel.
>>335717473
Not him, but I made mine already on HobbyLink Japan. I did remember seeing it on AmiAmi also.
>>335717473
You could for like two weeks now.
>>335717330
>they never did the four versions they wanted with Pirate and just have two on one cart two on the other
>instead they did the awkward bullshit with Berserker on both
>>335711956
Are you saying Blue because of Folder Back?
>>335711081
Any anons opinion aside, 6 is objectively the best in the series.
Only an idiot would deny this. No one in this thread is an idiot, right?
>>335717993
I can only accept that if you are talking about the Japanese release of EXE6.
3 = 2 > 6 > 5 = 1 > 4
>>335711081
I'm under the impression that BN3 Blue was the unanimously regarded as the best MMBN game, and one of the best games ever created.
>>335717985
Not him but Blue's got an extra boss White doesn't, and people generally seem to like BowlMan and Shadow Style more than MistMan and Ground Style.
I like the latter two more but I'm also a loser who loves me some FolderBak so I usually go with Blue and cheat myself Ground Style.
>>335717985
>>335719738
The extra boss isn't even worth fighting since he's not difficult and gives no reward, plus FolderBak makes the game easy-mode.
>>335711081
why is capcom so shit, I just want another Battle Network game
>>335717651
I have no idea about the story of the games. But strangely.. that doesn't even turn me off a bit.
I cant believe the fact that i didn't play starforce 3. I played all the bn games and then the first 2 sf and i just found out in this thread about the third one. It seems it has been around for 7 years and i didnt even know
I really liked the turn-of-the-century internet aesthetic these games had. Haven't really played anything with the same kind of design to it.
>>335724503
It never came out in Europe.
Play it, it's the best SF by far.
>>335724618
Just passed the tutorial. Thanks to whoever informed me about it. I have a friend who loved the bn series and thought that the sf is a travesty but i find them pretty nice...they aren't an embarassment to the old bn games and they are also pretty fun
>>335724605
I love how it parallels the original Mega Man game for NES.
Mega Man on NES was a look into the near-future with robotics. Battle Network is the same future but adjusted with the times as people in 2001 knew that computers and networks had become far more important than robotics.
Hell, I've even seen people argue that BN is literally a split timeline where Light's network research overtook Wily's robotics work. I don't quite buy that, but the thematic parallel is that strong.

I would have played the shit out of Pirate.
I'm assuming to keep from having advantageous elemental matchups, the pairings would be:
Pirate x Shinobi / Zerker x Saurian
