>>335709503
Not in the slightest. This is the best comeback they could've made from absolution.
had they released all the episodes at the same time and ditched the online it would've been amazing, but this business model isn't that cancerous to be honest, you know what you're getting and the total price if you pay individually it adds up to the normal game price. Not like they just released the first three maps at 60 and sold the rest as dlc.

You mean because of the Episodic release format? I think they have a good shot at being fairly popular. If they keep releasing levels as full of quality as Paris and Sapienza, then the good word of mouth will spread and they'll get some good sales when they sell all of Season 1 for 30 bucks or something in some super special.
Have faith, anon.

I ain't buying any extra shit until I've seen the elusive targets work.
Regarding the rifle briefcase, in real life it's usually not a great idea for snipers to be reassembled, fucks with the zeroing. You'd have to shoot and readjust it again after putting it together.
Not that it matters in this game though, it's a game and 47's probably keenly aware enough to know exactly how to tune it. I imagine it's to keep some challenge so you can't just waltz up to the tower with it. I miss the WA2000 though.
>>335709279
the bio suit doesnt work outside of the lab. you are allowed to subdue people when doing silent assasin right? i think the best start is doing that science chick that is in the church, she has the laptop dongle for the virus which is the only way of destroying the virus without changing your outfit. what i am looking for is the fucking camera recorders. i destroyed the evidence in the villa and still had 20k removed for leaving behind evidence.
>>335712029
The cameras for the lab are controlled in the building that the laptop is on top of.
>>335712029
theres under the church, one on the upper floor of the mansion and another underneath the laptop to destroy the virus
>>335712029
There's multiple security stations in which you gave to destroy evidence from; one for the mansion, one for the bunker, and I guess one from the villa as you pointed out.
That's a comfy looking road. Where does it take place?
>>335711930
The briefcase has already made an appearance in leaked alpha footage.
It will probably be some mastery unlock in Marrakesh.

They completely fell for the open world meme which ruined this game. Blood Money wasn't true open world, it had well written set pieces in game, but let you choose which option you wanted to go for. Shitman (2016) has large levels but they completely lack direction.
>>335712165

DX12 and DX11 are graphics libraries. You should only see performance boosts or decreases, not graphical improvements.
The reason some games look "better" on newer graphics libraries is because developers can put more in their games with little to no performance decrease.

Yeah, but once you've done a script once, its boring.
Some of the most fun I have suit-only runs where I clear out the whole mansion with a silence AR.
Also, its really fun to do unsuppressed weapon challenges and stuff. They are a lot harder than the shitty "find this script" challenges the game gives you. Doing things like "assassinate him with the guard's handgun while dressed as his body guard" are a lot more tense, and realistic.
Anyone found a way to make Silent Assassin, suit only work in Sapienza?

>game is already on a 10% discount even though it's not even close to being finished
yes, I honestly believe this is the end of the hitman franchise, they will finish what they already promised on delivering and then they will scrap it.
one of the developers literally said the future of the hitman series is based on how well this game does.
it's remarkable to see how a developer can just murder a game with a stupid decision to get quick buck

Trying to compare it with Thief or Splinter Cell is silly, they're completely different kinds of stealth games, but I can compare it to Blood Money.
Three of the four levels are on about the same quality as the best levels of Blood Money. They're very big, open, replayable and fun. That said, there's only three of them (seven or eight total by the time the season is done)
If you really enjoyed both Contracts and Blood Money and have played those games a dozen times already and you like replaying levels to find different ways to beat them and fuck around, then you should definitely try out the 15 bucks intro thing.
If you didn't like Blood Money or you're more of a "one and done" kind of guy, don't bother until later.
>>335717523
Share your wisdom, anon.
If you're looking for a clean way into the lab, grab the female lab assistant's keycard and the laptop dongle in the morgue (but not the disguise), proceed to the shore and go the mountain path. Swipe the keycard and when you encounter the three guys standing around, throw a coin behind the guards so they turn around and you can slip by unnoticed. Make your way into the building close to your left and delete the camera footage. Go up the stairs, take out the scientist and use the laptop. You should be able to exfiltrate by plane.

This doesn't look that bad, I guess in motion it's better, but still.
Considering all the technical fuck ups there are with the game I have no problem waiting until the full version comes out.
>>335718163
Honestly? I like the game being episodic. It means we get these threads once a month where everyone figures out and talks about each level.
I would have preferred to get it all at once, but at the same time I'm happy I get to play it earlier.
>>335719145
I guess you can also say that since you're getting it piece by piece you're probably spending a whole lot more time on each level in total compared to if you had all levels from the get-go. Like how if Ground Zeroes had been part of MGSV, people wouldn't have messed around and played with it as much. With that aspect it's a good thing, for some people. And since they do those timed one-chance missions it adds some incentive to get the episodic game instead of waiting for the full one. And obviously they're probably pretty tense to do since you only have one shot. Don't know how often they do them, but they should probably do them quite regularly to keep people entertained.
>>335714698

I like this level, it's got a good mix of civilian areas, restricted houses and staff areas, and secret bond villain laboratories.
Seems like bodies from accidents no longer count as bodies found. So accident-play like in Blood Money can still give you 5 stars

At medium settings the game runs at like 30 fps or lower. I seriously thought the framerate was locked at first.

Kinda both. Graphically, it barely looks better than Absolution. In fact, it probably is only better than Absolution because of better colors and art design.

Sure, and nobody bought dark souls 3 because DS2 was still a thing, right?
What kind of asinine argument is that?
People would still buy the sequel if it was good, what sense does pissing off your core audience make? Do you honestly believe people wouldn't buy the new game if the old one was still accessible?
I see a lot of people saying they can't do SA/SO. I managed to find Francesca alone in her office with only one bodyguard, who eventually turned around allowing me to strangle her and hide her. Is that normal or did I have some lucky bug?
Sneaking around the lab was a lot of fun, although I feel that the only way in and out is the fire alarm, since it makes you undetectable by scientists.

I just won't buy games that will be inaccessible a few years later.
>>335740051
you buy phones that are designed to get fucked just after the warranty runs out, why not games? throw money at your local developer, it's how capitalism works you commie

>>335740280

lol no I don't unless you want to be semantic and say that the bill pays for it.
and the old phones I have from 20 years ago still work.
the online only games are like the cell phone service cutting off becasue you can't use it with that old phone.
its a big reason why people that buy smartphones are morons.

How? This would've made my life a lot easier than just rushing inside the room and hacking everything while the fire alarm was off.

One last thing: where does Seducing Francesca play? Is it related to the caddie disguise? I just poisoned her drink.

ai in this hitman is so fucking dumb, it doesn't even deserve to be played, square enix seriously fucked up the franchise
1. Where is the therapist costume?
2. How to make the dude get in a plane?
3. How to shoot the girl with canon?
>>335743132
It's smarter and far less easy to cheese than the AI in BM though.
Is there any story in this game the way it was in Blood Money?
>>335713551
It's not actually taking place in the 80s though.
It's a recreation of an assassination that occurred then.
The boat isn't real, hence why the helicopter on the too is literally a card board cut out.
The whole mission is inside some silo too, it's feasible the recreation is during modernish day
>>335743394
Yeah, there is a baddie that is manipulating ICA and other influential organizations for his nebulous goals, every mission the game drops a cutscene and some lore/story pieces here and there. So it is reminiscent of BM.
>>335743669
That's great.
I loved the way the story was told in BM.

it was fun to ring the doorbell at the waiters apartment, have him answer with 47 hiding his pistol behind his back, shoot him in the face and leave a mini bust next to his corpse as a calling card

Because they work?
One apartment has a gun and mansion key inside so it's probably a guards place
Another has a church key and church uniform inside

>>335744401
They're being quiet as fuck about it because most people have forgotten already. They just keep shitting out escalation contracts and hope no one will notice.
>>335745091
I was assuming all the actors were just ICA employees and 47s weapons were all fake like paintball guns. But hey I'm stretching here.
As for the chopper they are at the bottom of a huge silo, wouldn't be easy to fly down like that, plus not very inconspicuous either
Daily reminder that only the next map (Marrakech) will be as big as the first two, next three maps (Bangkok, Colorado and Hokkaido) will all be smaller and with no large open spaces.
>>335714038
>there's actually two guys in red and green jumpsuits named mario and luigi
>>335745543
Because they will probably be the only two maps to host multiple story missions.
Its a shame that no online publications are raising the matter of the
always-online requirement for certain features of this game. The Hitman
series has always been single player. In this release, unless you are
connected to their less than reliable servers, then you cannot use any
of the weapons you have unlocked or complete any of the ingame
challenges. The developers before release said they were using an
episodic model so that they could take the communities feedback into
account as they go along. If you look at their twitter or the official
forums, you will see that the main complaint people have is these
crippling online requirements, yet on those very same platforms the
developers are actively dodging the issue and saying they are working on
improving the servers, but the server problems are a completely
seperate issue. It would seem as if Square Enix have forced them to put
this always online requirement in the game for their own datamining
experiment, but neither will address the situation at all and all gaming
sites are remaining silent on the issue. Its a shame because after the
disaster that was the last title, this game has the potential to be a
great return to form for Agent 47, but the fact that as soon as the
servers are shut down the game becomes redundant, means that the
infinite replayability that the devs advertise and is a series staple
doesnt actually exist.
>>335745965
That might change when they release the disc version with everything in it

the servers were so shit (even though i've disconnected twice in game since launch and that includes today) that they delayed it until it was more stable because if you disconnect or quit and elusive target you miss out on the opportunity due to the one and done aspect. With the reconnect option, i dont see why they wouldnt launch it

>>335749442
770 here. So I see an option to override safeguards, but otherwise it locks it. I average a bit over 30 FPS on high, and upper 40s on medium.
>>335749371
Why does it keep getting delayed? Why can they pump out multiple escalation missions as a replacement? I don't get what is so complicated about making an elusive target.
>>335746376
Glitch, I had the same thing happening to me on the Paris mission with a single guard who could see through walls and could see if I committed any crime despite being on the other side of the wall.
I deduced it was just one guard by closing a door in his face and pulling a gun out and he saw it through the door

>>335750341
they actually delayed it to this month, they just keep mentioning it for one reason or another. their latest one was about the episode 2 patch before release saying Elusive target would be launching this month
the way they described it, was that you had to kill a target that was unique and does not exist outside that one contract and if you fuck up or miss the opportunity to play it, it's gone forever.
By the looks of Italy, i think that will be the case and it wasn't hype, because there are large stores, apartments, and a whole fucking tower that are basically abandoned with no foot traffic
>>335751067
Yes, I get how it works, and I get why they wouldn't have added one at launch. But by now everyone knows Paris inside-and-out. Is it really so hard to add a new character into the map?
>>335751048
I can't help you famalam. it works for me, except for screen tearing
>>335750954
>why do we want to step into a character who seemingly doesn't want to feel much of anything
Because it's 50% puzzle game.
>>335751048
he means video memory. i think whats happening here is that if you have a 2gb video card like the 770 it locks the textures to low otherwise it'll cause problems within the game. maybe texture streaming problems or something due to the low vram.
if theres an option to ignore suggested limits like in gta, then click that and turn textures to high but monitor vram usage in msi afterburner. if you dont run into any problems that are related to vram then it should be fine to keep it on high.
>>335708794
>minor update to fix graphical issues
>4.5Gb

>>335751231
I really don't know how it's going to work. There are some areas in Paris that could be rearranged to be very different. tbqh i really dont know how they plan on making elusive target a challenge outside of the one try aspect
>>335750954
>suggests that his deeds are good or necessary

No you can't. You have to buy them sequentially. Each DLC has the previous ones as a requirement. Devs have already confirmed.
>>335753976
>I have no faith that Marrakech will be any good.
Its already confirmed good.
Its the next 3 after that are shit. They had Paris, Italy, and Marrakesh pretty much finished at launch. They had barely started on the other missions. They'll be rushed and lacking content.
>>335753976
>I have no faith that Marrakech will be any good.
Why is that?
>>335754025
Again, why is it stupid? Give an actual reason instead of resorting to name calling and buzzwords. I'd understand if the model resulted in the price being significantly higher than a normal full price game, but this isn't the case. The game still costs $60. Nothing's stopping you from waiting until all the levels are released. For those of us who would rather play it now there's an option to do so. It's a win-win.
