I watched the snapmap stream and it looks pretty decent. Sure it isn't full Mod support, but it looks really flexible.
I mean look what Warcraft 3 did and that wasn't full mod support.

The stream doesnt have obj marker, map that show you where to go. The map only reveal to you as you go along.

So Doom 4 is basically updated Doom 3.
There is a story which is just radio transmissions and audio logs/holograms like in Doom 3, levels are a little bit more open, and they added some modern stuff like weapon upgrades, less horror, more action.
I dont really see anything wrong with it to be honest. Maybe universal ammo is a little bit strange and makes it feel a little bit arcadey at times, but other than that it's ok.

I'm guessing I'll play through it twice (once on HMP, once on UV) then probably go back to playing Memento Mori or something until they release proper modding tools (if ever) so people can make maps that aren't just closed off hallways designed with consoles in mind.
