summoned a guy whose name was Mark Souls, he was in the Yahargul set with the centurion helmet, the bowblade, and the plank shield.
Naturally he played the game like it was Dark Souls. tanking enemies with sword and shield slowly, using the bow at a distance to pull enemies, the works.
It was really authentic.

Today I got invaded in Cathedral of the Deep. All I did was sit in the corner of the bonfire room and after 20 minutes two invaders both left. But unfortunately Shadowplay didn't work.

What are you using? Reach doesn't mean shit, get up in their face where their reach gives them no advantage. If they have a longer weapon than you they'll be slower to swing it, so use that to stagger them first and sink another hit or two in before disengaging and charging back in. I roll a bit, but mostly I run everywhere. With a horizontal slashing weapon (straight swords, curved swords) you can run from one side of them in a gentle sweep around to the other, then do a running attack and it will swipe into their face before they can react, for example.

Ohhhh man. Let me break this down for you guys. As soon as the invader begin entering the world, the host casts a miracle called "tranquil walk of peace", which requires 18 faith and creates a gold aura around you that slows any enemy who enters it, preventing them from dodging/rolling (as you can see, the invader TRIES to roll, but a struggling animation plays instead). Next the host flips over to the invader using the "dark wood grain ring", which lets you do a flip instead of a roll, and doubles the amount of ground your roll covers and also increases the invincibility frames. The catch is that the dark wood grain ring only works if your equipment burden (the weight of the gear you're wearing) is LESS THAN (not equal to) 25% of your maximum equip weight. This host is wearing Havel's armor, some of the heaviest armor in the game, but also the most protective from physical and magic damage. This means that he must also be wearing havel's ring, which increases your max equip weight, as well as have a fucking HUGE endurance stat, because endurance increases equip weight. But that's not all the host is wearing, he's also wearing the crown of dusk, which lowers magic defense (offset by the Havel armor in this case), but boosts magic damage by 20%. Finally, the host is using Logan's Catalyst, which is one of the most powerful staves in the game, requiring an intellect stat of 40 to wield properly, to cast Dark Bead, a shotgun type spell that casts 5 dark orbs at once. In other words, this guy stacked only intellect and endurance, with a little bit of faith, to create the most dastardly, underhanded shit I have ever seen.

Been using mainly Lothric Knight Long Spear through my first run, at Anal Rodeo currently
At least I've had no trouble with PvE so far, the 2dog in Aldricht covenant was pain in the ass because no overhead swings and the dogs are kinda hard to hit without some.
LKLS seems to be the hardest hitting spear so far, Tailbone Spear has bit less AR but one handed pokes are faster and the WA is just fun as fuck, basically better version of Dragonslayers Spear at least comparing to DaS and DaS2.
Gargoyle Flame Spear has good damage and ton of enemies are weak to fire, in PvE the WA isn't really useful though and it's ugly as shit so I haven't really used it.
Twinspears has the most varied moveset for sure and the stunlock L1 spam destroys enemies but I like my 2-handing too much to main it.
Arstor's/Ghrus both seem like decent spears but I'd rahter take Tailbone over Arstor's cause both use Scales to upgrade and Ghru's has lowest AR of all these.
Haven't really tested other spears that much, but I plan to as soon as I start getting chunks reliably.

If you want to try out spears, I'd get Twinspears for most varied moveset and Lothric Knight's cause it's very basic, has great range and AR

Nah, it's not really that strong (if you aren't the kind of retard who tries to out r1 an estoc) but it's obnoxious as fuck to invade someone and every single one of them is an R1 spamming Estoc/Rapier user with a parrying shield. I wouldn't mind so much if they weren't awful 99% of the time, but they are. The only actually strong item of those three is Sacred Flame thanks to its busted NPC tier hitbox, but thankfully most people haven't realized how bullshit it is yet so it isn't a problem.

All the time I do this I do it right next to the bonfire. It's always incredibly obvious I'm in the bonfire room because none of the AI have been killed or are out of their default spawns and all the shortcuts are at the bottom. All sorts of reasoning point to me being there but if my invaders and retards like you can't figure that out and instead explore the whole level that's your fault.
Besides, once they find me I usually kick their ass and spam "Very Good" as their phantom fades away. Gets great sort of hatemail.

I've had problems with it in every Souls game, though I've always chalked it up to its wonky animation. It's hard to tell when the window starts, whereas shield/hand parries are much more fluid. Supposedly, it has the longest active frames, but I'd still suggest using a target shield over it. It's probably one of those things that comes down to player preference, but no need to gimp yourself if you're better at parrying with something else.
