I am glad I didn't buy into the Wii U meme. Being a Nintendo fan is too stressful which is why I gave up back when they announced the original Wii. This pretty much confirms that they have no lineup for the rest of 2016 and they are just bracing themselves for the launch of the NX.
The NX had better have some real horsepower if it's to have any chance of success, especially with the PS4k right around the corner. Even if Nintendo has to charge $400 for the thing, it needs to have an edge over the Xbox One and standard PS4 if it's going to be relevant. The Xbox One and PS4 weren't even powerful systems when they launched, and if Nintendo is going to lowball it with the hardware again they might as well get out while they still can. Releasing a system with last-gen specs only worked once and it will never work again.
Nintendo is actually lucky that Sony is releasing the PS4K, because it's Sony who is breaking the traditional console cycle first and not Nintendo. The PS4K is a transitional console and the NX is as well, but the NX has to actually be good enough to compete with a console like the PS4K. If they are going to blow the MSRP on something dumb like including a phone or a tablet then it's going to fail just like the Wii U. They need to invest in a solid hardware configuration that will allow for impressive games, or it will be another "also ran." It's do or die time.

Man, I've been a Ninty-SONY guy all my life, had both consoles since 64, but this generation has been awful for both sides, but at least SONY managed to get a grip and it does have some interesting games.

If it's an issue with development teams, then I guess that shows how highly Nintendo thinks of Zelda to not have a sizeable and dedicated team to focus on one of their most valued IPs. If anything I think this is just a sloppily held mess

XBX's overworld is probably the most vertical open world out there, filled with secrets around every corner that I'm still exploring and finding 200 hours in. There was no point. It launched between PS3/360 and PS4/Xbone in power, meaning it got no third party games. Also because its a gimmick "second screen" bullshit but not with phones, but as a built in part of the console that Nintendo also infrequently used.

Honestly, I am done with consoles after this generation. I made this decision regarding Sony and Microsofts consoles, everything worth playing would probably come out for PC anyways...especially with MS pushing Win10 as a platform.
