It's like the Arkham games without the platforming and "no combo hints" is always on (not that you should be getting into fist fights in the first place). The tacked on point system may make you mad if you're autistic about getting max stars, but you're in no danger of dying if you mess up your stealth run, so there's no reason to be scared.

It's not about scaring you or anything, it's about making you feel tense and worried, if anything. As far as I can recall, there are no jump scares or anything. It's purely just atmosphere.
I love this game so much though. I'd wish for a remake if I weren't afraid of them fucking with it too much.
