It's "The Ring" but using an NES-style mmorpg instead of a tape. It's pretty clunky to play and the story is predictable, but the game is carried by it's uniqueness. I can double forgive the awkward controls because it's a decent horror game.
There's the first, The Nameless Game, and a sequel The Nameless Game: Eye. Neither came to the west, but both have full english translations.

Dude, half of the people who provide the patches for these games include the necessary patcher in the download. Patching ROMs is the easiest thing in the world and the software involved is designed to be idiot proof.
I can tell you straight up if the patch is a .ips you're going to want Lunar IPS and if it's anything else it's most likely going to need Xdelta.
You could just download from nicoblog, they're usually the first link when you search "[game title] english" and they host prepatched ROMs. Don't you want the satisfaction and confidence knowing that if it wasn't available you could just do it yourself, though?

Chronos Twin: short but fun. Really feels like an NES game in terms of control, gameplay and difficulty although its not nearly as hard as everyone says it is.
Uses the 2 screens simultaneously for platforming but you get used to it really quick.

Shadow Dragon is a graphical remake of FE1, the worst, most barebones game in the series but it at least the original had an excuse of being the first game, Shadow Dragon has no excuse for not improving or adding anything at all.
