I love Civ 5 but after hundreds of hours it's starting to grow stale. Should I give beyond earth another try? Is the expansion worth it? What are some other tbs games I should try?

Beyond Earth is beyond shit.
try an overhaul, though it doesn't stop the AI from being absolutely retarded but it'll at least give you some new tech trees and buildings and what not.
You tried Endless Legend? Solaris is out soon too.

If you want some sci-fi civ, just play Alpha Centauri.

Just download some mods like extra countries from the steam workshop.
Whatever you do, don't play Endless Space.
You can try every troubleshooting tip on the publishers site, steam forums and google, but that shit won't work.
