50-50. Often they have two summons with them, and I may kill a summon but then the host runs off back to the bonfire. I usually just bide my time (and wait and wait for them to get more summons) and let them run out of estace slowly.
Sometimes I invade and there's a mad phantom, that is fun. Sometimes I managed to beat all 3 (rarely).

Also, you'd be surprised at how convincing a plus 2 crossbow is to get someone to stop being a pussy and actually attack you rather than waiting back for you to do a suicide run. Just plug away at them with a crossbow for 80 damage (That's like 10 to 20 percent health at that level). Plug them a few times and they'll actually attack you.

You still get lots of invasions, but the quality drops immensely.
As people progress and get invaded more, they look up memebuilds and fall to dodge spam while summoning three phantoms as way of blue with giant seed on.
The last six invasions I have done in Irithyll have been four man groups camped in the church where mobs refuse to enter as the host pops seed then branch and three sunfags sit at the door with weapons ready to go.
That's just a small glimpse at the faggotry awaiting you past Settlement.

Been invading after pontiff and used the dragonslayer greatbow. If it's the host + some phantoms I go up in the tower after the big courtyard with the giants and pimp my tower with some of those colored stones.
After I've pimped my tower I proceed to shoot my enemies with the greatbow and hold my watchtower. If I'm lucky they'll get mad and rush up to me and I can get some glorious aid from my shiny knights that protects Anor londo.
If there's a fightclub going on I equip the "obscures wearer far away" ring and try to ruin their fun by shooting everyone and letting them search for me. Before I do this however I ususally draw a line with prism stones over the whole courtyard to show them that they are on my land and near my tower. After I get them to chase me I bait them over to the tower and proceed to shoot them with my majestic lightning greatarrows.
It's been great so far, I don't mind if they get me. I'm more doing it for the thrill/fun. I usually end up killing the host anyways because they get paniced and end up doing a wrong roll and rolls off the bridge/path.
It's nice being an asshole sometimes.

55 sl is nonstop invasions for aldrich faithful. Haven't lost a single match yet and most of the time, I've been fighting the host alone. A lot of victories are dependent on how powerful your build is, though. On my sl 95 astora gs pyormancer, I have mediocre hp and damage. I was killed in 4 hits by a chaos blade. It takes 3 hits with my slow ass sword to kill.

Poise works, but it's not the same as it was.
Nobody can tell poise is working because everyone uses faggot ass katanas and straight swords.
Poise now functions as hyper armor during attacks. You notice it more when you use ultra weapons and very slow casting magic. Once your attack ends, poise no longer does anything. It's intended to allow you to attack through another player's attack, not to sit there and tank them like a faggot.

I had a similar thing happen to me. I was fighting a 4v1 and actually doing relatively well. Then an Aldritch faithful guy invaded and I expected him to help me clean these scrubs up. The host started beating his ass and when he saw it was a 4v2 he started attacking me with the host's phantoms as if to try and say "OH NO I'M WITH YOU GUYS LOL". They initially started beating his ass but then stopped as he casted spells on me. I killed two of the phantoms and then died. Faggot Aldritch dude started clapping and the remaining phantom spammed "Thank you" drops. Then the host backstabbed and killed the Aldritch fag before I disappeared.

Poise is the reason why I didn't get knocked out of my weapon skill, and why my opponent didn't flinch and I did when we both hit each other at the same time. It is NOT hyper armor. I've been knocked out of my attack at that point many times by bosses and other mobs. I'm not even sure if 100% hyper armor exists.
Poise literally does what it says it does, it increases the resistance to having your form broken. They turned off the idle poise which is what you are thinking of. It doesn't work like in DaS1 where you can pretty much ignore anyone not using a fucking massive weapon. Get used to it.

The only weapon art so far that I've really felt is useless is Straight Swords Stance into thrust. Stance into shield break is useful. There are some weapons that combo into their weapon art for Full to death combos such as BK Glaive. Go ahead try it. It's as easy as R1 L2 R2. Boom. Anyone who isn't a host is dead. Pretty much every curved sword can combo for R1 into Weapon art resulting in much better damage than two R1's. I use two R1's as a measure because anyone with a brain will roll away after 2. Maybe you're just not using your weapon arts properly?

Don't even try to act like mobs and phantoms are equivalent. ONE semi-decent phantom can take care of all the mobs, leaving two people to beat on the invader. Hell, the phantoms can rush the invader while the host sits at the bonfire and summons more indefinitely when they die. Go for the host? Then you lose the supposed advantage of mobs. Don't forget that they can all just wait out your invasion because you're on a timer.

Something similar happened to me too.
I invaded as a purple, and the phantom died before I spawned in. The host re-summoned him, I led him through Farron Keep to get killed. Then the motherfucker summoned the same dude a 3rd time and I just black crystal'd out.
Fuck gankfests.
As a purple I tend to just charge straight at them and try to grab someone with forbidden flame.
It usually never works out, but it's hilarious.

I've been putting my gold summon sign down in boreal valley, where all the aldrich invade. It only takes shitters seconds to summon me for help.
I'll greet them and be normal, even help them through the level. When an invader eventually shows up, I wave at them, point at them, and then point at the host before sitting down. If they got the message, they will run right by me and start fucking up the host.
Since phantoms have priority in invasions and I pretty much don't count as a summon, I am nothing but a detriment to the host and am causing him to be repeatedly invaded, and he usually doesn't have time to remove me because he's too busy being you know, invaded.
If an invader doesn't get the message after I spell it out for him multiple times, I'll just kill him. Some guy kept going after me today during a 2v"2" and I just had to put him down even after telling him to go after the host and leave me alone.
I also like to lead hosts down to the double dog dare ya room if they haven't found it yet, aggro both dogs, sit on the ladder and not let them up.

Small difference makes a big deal in duels for me, especially using a slow weapon like I do. If I tank through even one attack that lets me use my weapon skill it is worth the effort to know how it works. Sure it's not like DaS1 where a giantdad could walk up to a scimitar user point blank and start sweeping with an UGS without worrying about being stunlocked, but the fact is if you're wearing havels it will help when you use a slower weapon, the longer your attack animations the more poise will benefit you. This doesn't just work on weapon arts, but I wanted to use the weapon art attack because it specifically increases poise and some idiots like >>335665486 think that means "hyper armor" when clearly I got knocked out of the attack when I was naked.
