The sequels did have more in the way of loot, I won't argue against that. Though finding it was a bit of a chore for me compared to the first game. I didn't like how rare weapons were, even if they had more interesting effects than gear from the first game.That all comes down to my personal available spare time though. Dark Souls 2 is fine as its own thing with pros and cons. I played it within a week of beating Dark Souls 1 for the first time last winter and just finished Dark Souls 3 yesterday. All three games are easy 8-10s if you just like the combat and exploration without going full 'tism. I admit that I played SotFS instead of vanilla DS2 but both seem to earn similar over the top scorn.
Modern World of Warcraft is fine. WoD DID have an embarrassing content drought and the raid tier lengths are retarded as hell. But if you're not playing a MMO with a comfy guild or friend group then you're just looking to burn time for some reason. Highmaul to Foundry to a few months of Citadel was fun as fuck and we all unsubbed to wait for the Legion pre-patch. Also Pandaria is in the top 3 of expacs.
Undertale is a wonderful little game worth $10, nothing more and nothing less. Ignore the hatebase and the fanbase. basically, dying in body form lowers world tendency, killing bosses raises it. world tendency causes other NPC's/mobs/loot to spawn that is not available normally. it also causes the primeval demons to spawn in pure black tendency which is how you get colorless demon's souls.

Last I played, Robocraft's F2P was horrible because people with access to high tier weapons just took a max rank railgun, attached it to 5 blocks and a propeller and then sniped in low level matches because of how fucked mech ratings and early gun damage/accuracy were.
Conversely while everything took forever to get in planetside 2 the difference in overall effectiveness was pretty much nothing. You would be trading one stat for another with weapons, resulting in just a shifted combat role. If you went for suit slots you either got something that was useful a lot of the time, but had relatively low impact like Nanoweave, or something with a specific niche use like grenade bandolier/revive grenades. Only thing you could argue is that you're cut off from effective vehicle usage, especially air game, without certain unlocks. Even then you could be anti-air or anti-infantry through other, cheaper means.
While I mostly disliked the level design, I didn't thing DaS2 was all that bad in terms of game play.

I enjoy sniping in multiplayer FPS games, even though I know I'm shitting up the game for my team. I also love abusing shotguns whenever they're potential one hit kills, then wasting the entire round popping around corners blasting people in the face like some dickass reverse whack-a-mole, even in objective-based modes. I have enjoyed everything Chris Roberts has made or produced. I play Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors primarily for the setting, story, and characters.
I think SW is a much better series overall. The mission system gives a sense of urgency and structure that the game desperately needs to avoid becoming mindless. The Chronicles series makes an effort to give each and every character a fair share of dialogue screentime. Every character plays unique with none of that fucking god-awful interchangeable weaponry that newer DW has.
The only thing DW has over it is the more coherent overall story.

/vg/ is a whole nother story. I have no idea why anyone goes to /vg/ other than to talk about strats or look up database-style info. /vg/ is even less conductive to discussion than /v/ is, which is saying something. Also probably why nearly every other General dies out 3 months after the game its for releases.
Dark Souls 2, while not quite as enjoyable as the first one, was still pretty fun and had a lot of neat shit. Plus the PvP has the most variable amount of shit, I could reasonably expect to see magic, pyro, miracle, and status characters, and Soul Memory completely not giving a fuck once you broke the highest bracket was nice.
Dark Souls 3 is more fun than the first one, even if the online is ass.
There is literally nothing wrong with Minecraft as a whole. It's become more flawed recently but still a decent game.
Morrowind is fucking awful and if you have to have a suite of two dozen mods to make a game playable (not even enjoyable) then it's a bad game. Skyrim was boring without mods, but the movement, combat, systems, and visual design (no fucking fog) were all more enjoyable than Morrowind's. Incorporating dice roll combat into an action RPG does not work.
Deus Ex is overrated. The first Thief game came out before and far surpasses it in terms of both gameplay and visuals.
Modern Warfare 2's last mission had some of the best writing in video games as a medium.
Persona 4 is absolute fucking garbage compared to 3. Strange Journey is the best mainline, followed by the first SMT.

Reddit has good subs for following news in a country, city, or community. Good subs for seeing content from games. Good subs that have heavy moderation that only allows sourced and mature input, like /r/askhistorians. Generals on /v/ are sort of hit or miss, I mostly come for the memes and laughs, the sheer amount of shitposting, people unable to come to terms with not everyone only loving waifu simulators.
I honestly don't see why anyone pretends that /v/ is a good place. The few truly good boards on 4chan like /o/ and /his/ have good counterparts on reddit too. /o/ is better than /r/cars or brand specific subs for younger people, since reddit is full of old fucks that have careers and just want to post about their expensive seat warmers on wheels.
