got hit exactly once because I rolled in the wrong direction. You can stunlock the final boss of the demo and /v/ is full of DSP tier casual scrubs. You can do the same with pontiff and nameless king in ds3 actually though.

Just beat it. I play a lot of action games, Ninja Gaiden DMC etc so it didn't give me that much trouble. I killed boat oni my 4th try I think and nue my 5th.
It's a fairly challenging game though, I died a bunch early on pulling more than an enemy or two. I also dumped stats into dumb shit, once I started putting them where my weapon wanted them to go I started fucking stuff up pretty quickly.
Overall solid game looking forward to the release, I really hope they don't tone it down because some people have shitty hand eye coordination.

Do a combo and look at your KI gauge, part of it turns red and slowly fills up again, you can press R1 at any time to get back that amount of KI. Don't press it too late though otherwise the red part of the Ki will be gone. You can also look at the particle effects around you, press R1 right before they form that circle around you

I opened the ladder shortcut, and got to an area with a bunch of bandits and a Samurai.

End of the level, you should not worry about level, but about your skill and understanding of the mechanics. Seriously, abuse backstabs damage and your guardian gauge.

On the coast. If you haven't gotten into the burning village, you'll need to beat the Yoki inside the house to do so.

Level really doesn't matter in this game, it changes fuck all.
Just the gear you get from the burning village and you'll do fine.

High Stance = Big HP/Stamina damage + Big stamina consumption. Worst dodge, don't think can dodge out of attack
Middile Stance= Balance attack and evasion, Best blocks with most of the parrysa and can dodge out of attacks for a small cost
Low Stance = Lowest damage but has the best dodge and attacks the fastest, good for hit and run. Can dodge out of attacks for free.
Remember to press R1 after every combo to get back some stamina and never run out of stamina, there's no stamina debt and you are very vulnerable when in the Red.

Level does matter but skill is much more important. Although with good gear it gets a lot easier. I doubt that you would 2 shot kill enemies in 2nd level with starter gear. But you can 2 shot kill them with good gear though.

Shrine should restore equipment to full durability since they break so quickly.

Not sure what I think. I want to love this game, but it's hard in the most tedious kind of ways. It is hard like sequence breaking in Dark Souls 2 might be hard. You're just overwhelmed constantly by waves of the exact same enemy, all of whom kill you in three hits. It isn't particularly fun nor is it satisfying. The amount of hyper armor enemies have is really fucking lame too.
I beat the boss and I like the atmosphere of the second area, but I'm not sure if I'll bother finishing it. It's already getting boring and I'm sick of dealing with the same shitty enemies over and over again.
It has loot system comparable to a ARPG, but without any of the draw of one. It has styles similar to a Souls game, but completely misses the equipment system that makes playing those games so fun. It has a similar nature to Ninja Gaiden to some degree, but without satisfying combat.
It's a very unique game, but there's also probably good reason why a game like it isn't already out on the market.

I just started the demo. I've only fought the first real enemy, but have otherwise died like 9 times trying to fight a bloodstain that is only level 2.
What am I doing wrong? I just get fucking decimated in like one combo string and die instantly. I never seem to dodge properly, my blocking is ineffective because he can just run me out of stamina, and not being able to move while drained really fucks me up.
Plus he's always blocking but can go right into a swing. For some reason I can't swing while blocking. Like it takes a couple seconds after I drop the block to swing again. Not that I do much damage anyway.

I even put away Dark Souls 3 just to play and try to max out. It feels right when you get the hang of the combos from the different stances. Also its a nice change of instead of trying to figure out what you are going for in terms of classes and levels, since everything gives you fucking health.

If you cannot roll you will get wrecked in dark souls. No roll=no iframes. here you can just watch your stamina bar aka ki and have no issues, its not that hard. I have to do like 4 full combos to run out of stamina, wtf are you doing? Most enemies I face would require me to roll away after 1 combo anyways unless they are already stunned.

go into equipment and equip your new weapons. How do you even breathe without others telling you how to do that? Just hit all buttons and figure out what works. The timing for parries depends on who you are facing imho. I beat the whole game without a single parry or block twice before I tried doing those. depends on your play style. shark for super long combos in living animal. fox for general stamina fuckery and good dmg boost in living animal. the bird for god knows what and the lightning doge? for extra souls absorbed. You can read what they do if you activate tooltips and then you use your brain.

Anyone who is even remotely honest can tell you that souls games are not hard. They're not easy either, the first souls games just takes some time to get used to the controls. But i played DeS back when it came out and had almost no problems with DS1, 2 and 3 except for one or two bosses and even those are barely worth calling a challenge.

If anything, it shows that FROM is much better at enemy design cause almost all the Youkai enemy feels like a DeS enemy in a Bloodborne game. They move so slowly with huge telegraphs so if not for the fact that they can't be stunlock until you deplete their stamina, they would have been annihilated easier than human enemies.

The way you worded it is that you wanted to know which equipment needs which stat and which stat is for magic.
If you want to know what end-demo equipment needs: mostly 9 in the first few stats. One piece I found needs 11 in one stat. I kept the magic shit at 5 and upgraded the one which is for nin jutsu to 12 as its OP. Left spirit at 10 so I can get the bonus for the summon animal, might have been smart to go higher so you can get even more out of it. I ended up with most stats more or less around 10.
