It's funny, since I remember reading an interview in Edge years and years ago with someone from From (I'd like to say it was Miyazaki, but I'm honestly not entirely sure) where they said that Onimusha was quite influential on the combat system of Demon's Souls. I'm basically expecting Samurai Souls. It was originally a tie-in to a Kurosawa film so it should have plenty of manly samurai stuff, and probably at least two titty ninjas. Also while Dark Souls is mostly western armor with a token Eastern Set, this will probably be a huge variety of samurai gear with a token western armor, so that's neat.
I'm cautiously hyped. Team Ninja knows how to make good action games with tight combat, but Ninja Gaiden 3 shows they need either a good director or strong fan backlash to do it. If Razor's Edge is any indicator, they're going to put a bigger emphasis on gameplay and win back our trust. And when we consider the NG fiasco and Nioh being a fresh new IP, this might become a mainstay.
I'm also expecting a political correctness backlash because the MC is white. Apparently he's the half-white son of a daimyo, which could make for a pretty good story when you consider Japan's history of xenophobia, but most people will just see the cover and scream "WHITE-WASHING". So that could be funny to watch.

The first was a mish-mash of action and SRPG, which was canned because they felt it was too derivative of Mosou.
The second was canned because they thought it was basically just "a poor man's Ninja Gaiden".

The gestures are all really good.
