Because the cycle is inherently bad, but going against it makes things worse, as the fire and dark seem to do every time and why the dark seems to grow stronger every game. Ideally you'd just let the fire fade, then have some nice age of dark, then the fire returns fully and a long and good age of fire happens and so on endlessly, but no, some faggots have to keep linking it to prolong the suffering.
Either way, the world of dark souls can't have an overrall good end unless the cycle can be destroyed, which, if 2 is anything to go by, feels impossible.SotFS is the best ending.

there's been a lot of testing done in Unearthed Graves. And it seems that the area actually IS the firelink shrine from the start of the game. Like, if you die to Champion Dindu and teleport to the Iudex Gundam bonfire, you'll find your bloodstain at the exact same spot. The geographical location matches too, relative to the high wall of Lothric, even thouhg you can't see it in the dark version.

I don't know if I can bring myself to buy the DLC after playing the main game. Dark souls 3 is better than 2 but worse than 1. I feel like it was also them mixing in BB combat with souls which made the game feel weird. The original dark souls had a soul but methodical pacing to the combat. Dark souls 3 tried to find a middle ground between bloodborne and Dark Souls. I don't think they should have done this because it just doesn't feel like Dark Souls anymore it feels like a weird Frankenstein monster in terms of combat. The locations felt like a greatest hits album and so did the bosses.

Now, if I were to turn my character to the left, you'd be able to see the destroyed remains of Lothric Castle. Even in the pic, you can see the castle tower jutting out into the screen. It's buried in a mountain of ash, but slightly off-place.
Furthermore, the placement of the Kiln indicates that Lothric is built literally on top of it.

In Demon's, the vast majority of your world is fucked, covered in fog. Your world will see respite, all of the trapped spirits are freed and the fog will go away after the Old One takes a nap. However, there are other infinite parallel dimensions are still fucked, eventually they'll be freed too once some spirit KOs the old one.
In Bloodborne, the world isn't necessarily fucked; it's just this one town of folks all doped up on blood and crazies trying to "transcend humanity" by means of eldritch horrors. Unlike Souls, there aren't alternate worlds or anything, and the dreams are isolated things. You're stuck in Gehrman's dream and one of the three endings sets you free, letting you walk right the fuck out and say fuck this town.
Dark is in a setting where you're in the middle of a very slow-working apocalypse. Humanity is cursed, trapped in an ever-undying state as demons and dragons and shit just keep ripping open their assholes, time and space are even being fucked by the sort of abnormalities going on. Any victories are Pyrrhic and choices that the undead make are for the most part delaying further despair. However going by the "canon" endings of Dark 1&2, what the Undead have done in those has led the way to the Ashen Undead in 3, effectively immune to the negative Hollowing effects of the Darksign.
But ultimately, no matter the "Age" that comes next, Humanity in an infinite number of universes in Dark Souls is kind of winning over the curse and continuing to survive while at the same time an infinite number of parallel universes have gone in the direction of the other bad endings that doom everyone. It's up to speculation which ending is the least shit for the people and which one a potential sequel will branch off from.

Sorcery is fucked too. You're stuck with Great Heavy Soul Arrow for 80% of the game and don't get anything else until you get to the late game. They removed most of the spells from DS2 and replaced them with soul arrows.

No. There will be a Londor DLC that expands on the Primordal Serpents and Angel Knights etc. There will also be a DaS2/Profaned Capital/Yhorm DLC where we learn about what happened to BotC and Aldia and find out more about the Profaned Capital and Yhorm.
