It honestly depends with what the gameplay is. Assome fat fuck who will not be named because it will trigger autistsonce said, Scott could have EASILY followed the exact same formula he had going from the first FNAF and just copy-pasted it across 3 other games and made a fuckload of money off it. But he went out of his way to actually make each game different and unique in their own right while still keeping the core gameplay the same. If it's just an exact copy of FNAF1 then it can fuck right off. But if he finds something new to do with it while still managing to keep it "scary" and not too complex, then it should be decent.

Closest thing we have is what Gay Theory said. He thought up 2 potential solutions, one is convoluted and filled with minor plot-holes but is about as sensible a story you will find anywhere. The other is just "it was all a dream, lol", which seems to be what Scott himself was alluding to himself at one point. While both are disappointing and needlessly confusing, it';s the best we gonna get. Scott really dug himself into a hole with the lore, as he probably didn't think about any long-term solutions, and probably lost his way on whatever original plan he may or may not have had while trying to meet fan expectations. Hopefully since this new one seems to be taking place in a completely different location with different bots, we can just throw that lore shit out the window and just have a fun horror game.

Springtrap's design is true fucking horror, with the internal organs mixed with broken down machinery and shit. If his jumpscares weren't so underwhelming i'd call him the scariest thing in the whole series, especially with the fact that you never find out what Springtrap does to the guy in 3. I'm fairly certain that the black screen implies he outright kills you when he catches you. There's no real aftermath to show; the security guard is dead. Springtrap's 'jumpscares' are meant to be slow so you can kinda take in the fact that he's actually a dead body trapped inside a suit. Same reason why the secret screens show Springtrap revealing it.
It's not really meant to be frightening.

The first game is in my opinion one of the best indie horror games ever, sans awful fanbase. The second game was mediocre because of too many monsters. The third game has a nice ending to it, fourth game was just trash, Freddy World I thought was the last we'd hear of it because Scott seemed to tell us through Freddy World that he's done with it.

Amnesia and Outlast are good spooky games but they paint a perfect picture of the stagnant state modern horror games are in.
first person walk around run from monsters games with a focus on story. It gets boring- FNAF 1 did something very interesting and neat with the artstyle out of an unnerving PS1 CG cutscene and the very sedentary, vulnerable gameplay.

I really love how Scott took the "the artstyle looks too creepy to be a happy Christian game" and made something like this.
