Unironically speaking, it's Bloodborne, simply because it held my attention so well, I felt the urge to finish it much more than the other games. The others games are more slower burners though, the sense of progression of traditional souls is superior, its a longer and more deeper experience. Bloodborne on the other hand feels like a hard and fast rush that just smashes your mind with its brilliant artistyle, alluuring lore and world design and its combat.

Honestly, if you're PC only, consider just renting a PS4 for the game. It's worth it, it's pretty short unless you intend to dick around online or 100% it. Like 20 hours for no-chalice/old hunter, fairly complete playthrough.
Seriously, even locally, no-lock-in contract console renting will run you 15-20 a week. Cheaper than the game. Consider it.
Ninja Gaiden Black
They all have their plus points. DaS1 has the best atmosphere and I think the NPCs and "world building" are the strongest in that game.
DaS2 was massive steps back in several ways but a lot of technical aspects improved like being able to see more summon signs, the ability to enter NG+ at the very start of the game if you wanted to, and being the first game to have a substantive tutorial for new players that could be immediately skipped by everybody else.
BB has by far the nicest aesthetic and the "lore" was a bit more up front and understandable which was nice. A faster paced game was fun too, dont know if its better than the gameplay in DaS1+2 but it's different and very enjoyable.
DaS3 just seems to have addressed the main issues with 2 (soul memory, lots of "large man with weapon" bosses, lack of cohesive aesthetic/theme, shitty enemy placement) and brought back the cool shit from 1 in its place while keeping tighter faster gameplay and a big variety of (mostly useless) weapons and armours. Soundtrack is also incredible. Only issue I have with 3 is the enemy types in a lot of areas even so far through the game as izalith are reskins of DaS1 enemies maybe with a new move.

I think they should have made Bloodborne much more different than Souls was. It's way too much like DaS/DeS for it's own good, and those elements mix poorly with what changes BB wants to implement.
They should have taken more other games as example on what to do and even how the gameplay should play. If they wanted fast combat, they should have taken notes from action games like Devil May Cry and Ninja Gaiden, especially the latter still focuses on hard hits just like BB but pulls the combat off way better.
Instead they just repurposed their previous games, which was okay between DeS and DaS because they're meant to be similar, but BB was planned as a separate thing.

Lets face the facts here, it's more polished, finished and tight than any of the Souls games. The gameplay is more challenging and fun, the weapons are creative and all are perfectly viable so you can go with whichever you want, the atmosphere is through the roof, the setting/lore is more unique than any of their Souls games and it has by far the best OST, even objectively speaking as it's entirely made with real instruments for once and it shows. The same composer also has the best tracks on DaS3 so it's no wonder.
And fuck off with the sonygger bullshit. I am a pkek at heart, I played all the Souls games on PC except DeS with which I got the EU version on PS3. I don't care about console wars, Bloodborne is just better.

It's not more unpolished than other Souls games, but it definitely carries the exact same signs of rush as the other ones do as well, only fixing very few small mistakes from previous games. Dark Souls III clearly builds up on this once more, adding its own small improvements, but
it has taken FROM a lot of time to slowly make small changes and fixes. Unreasonably slow. I'm mostly disappointed with how little progress they're making in the areas that are lacking, so rather than something specific about BB it's the same problems I always had with DeS/DaS as well.

I think it's sad seeing sonyggers try so hard to defend their one exclusive. I don't have a ps4, but I played BB religiously with a friend when it came out. While I do agree that Bloodborne + TOH is better than DS3, I just can't take someone seriously when they say vanilla BB was better than DS3. Maybe on ps4, but game looks amazing on PC with 60 fps.

They really had easier time when they were working within blank canvas.
Not talking about the mechanics, but things like the new characters and countries Dark Souls II introduced were good just the way they were in Dark Souls 1. You almost always get better results when you try to create something original instead of just continuing on already good thing. Same thing with Dark Souls III, you have plenty of new things, but then you suddenly see the exact same armor that you've associated with something completely else, totally another world. Things like Abyss Watchers were great because they were clearly strongly related to Artorias, but it's not like they're carrying the exact same sword, just shaping theirs similarly. It would have been cool to see how a long time changed how Elite Knight set or Catarina set would have evolved over time because that's also something armors and equipment did in medieval times.

Demon's Souls was amazing but when compared to Dark Souls it is pretty much just a little bit worse by almost all metrics.
Bloodborne and Bloodborne 2, ahem I mean Dark Souls 3, both contain 1 massive flaw that holds them back from being up there with DeS and DaS and that is it's one-dimensional play style (roll spam into attack into roll spam repeat) that results in shit replayability and low build diversity. DS3 wouldn't have fallen into this category if the bosses didn't get buffed halfway through every one of them. DS3 > BB because DS3 PvP is actually fun and rewarding.
Dark Souls 2 is in it's own category by somehow fucking up everything DaS and DeS did right. From soul memory killing low level PvP, to tying rolling i-frames to a stat, DS2 was a just one misstep after another. Also DS2 DLC was a huge hit or miss and the only reason people praise it is because it seems much better when compared to DS2 base. That trio gank squad boss is right up there with Bed of Chaos as it being the worst boss in the series.

Souls at it's best hands down. You can viably beat the game with any weapon or play style available and it feels good doing so. Power Within +70 INT+ Crystal Magic + RTR makes even normally boring caster runs fun just because you are available to choose exactly how risk/reward you want to play/

lots of good PvP locations for twinks, duels, and normal invading.
DS3 second because it's just better than the rest and has found a way for twinks to less of an issue with weapon leveling and SL taken into account VS just SL or *shudder* Soul Memory.
