is this worth the $40? i'm a demi-winning HC path of exile player and i'm wondering how this game stacks up. i'm watching streams and it looks faceroll as fuck; end game is simply a gear check while you run around spamming two buttons with your eyes closed. it doesn't look fun or challenging at all.

Compared to PoE you will be severely disappointed. D3 is only fun if you're looking for super-casual tier hack and slash, no challenge whatsoever and the Torment/maps (sorry, rifts) endgame is just an incremental gear grind. You could chew on your keyboard and hit 70 in hardcore with your first character.
That said, if you just want to sit down with a friend and slaughter zombies by the score, it gets the job done.
