You know, I kinda liked CS and CT's story but it's total shit now

CS's story was great.

Thought CT's story was pretty terrible, but CS was great. Then CP brought it back to terrible, but I still really like some of the characters, Ragna chief among them.

CT felt pretty cool to me because you get insight into the characters minds and personality. CS just expanded upon that more. CTR feels like it was made to simplified and refined ideas of the direction Mori felt he wanted to good with the series. CP main issue for me was the plot could mostly be consider filler and the executions of some plot-lines was horrible.
I didn't mind Celica inclusion probably because that the LN was already translated when it came out here and I felt they gave enough information for what you need know about her character and relationship with Ragna. They probably do the same for Naoto and Es as well in regards to their relationship to the plot.

CT was a clusterfuck of weird and terrible writing. It had good ideas, but it had utter crap like Rachel's route or Nu's route which were incredibly boring and didn't go anywhere.
I thought that the characters really started to become more interesting in CS. We got more backstory and they introduced and expounded upon relationships. Now Rachel had a crush on Ragna, now we got to see some character drama with Noel's friends because they brought in some people she knew, Hazama had more of a presence and Terumi was a more solid villain (who wasn't randomly hanging around Rachel's castle in force ghost form). It felt like CS did more in defining who the characters eventually became than CT and tried to develop characters more. Jin's a perfect example of that.
I agree about CP being filler. There's a fucking tournament arc in it for god's sake, that's like bottom of the barrel we-ran-out-of-ideas-for-our-shounen tier. Presonally, I can't stand Celica. But I'm not going to harp on it too much. Biggest problem was that CS had a big confrontation ending and a cliffhanger with a lot of setup. Everyone was going to meet up in Ikaruga and things were going to happen, damn it. Then CP blew it and nothing happened.

I think the increase in popularity caused the writers to pull a game of thrones or halo 3/4 (put in meaningless plot threads, include light novel elements for fanservice...etc.)

There are worse problems with CP like not knowing what extent that the other routes were retcon. I know the Six Heroes confrontation with Terumi is canon to Chronophantasma route but the setup for it doesn't make since because of one event that happen in Chronophantasma route that conflicts with the setup for it.
In the Six Heroes route Hakumen is by himself traveling Ikaruga and get notified of the plan Rachel has from through Valkenhayn which he refuses. He eventually agrees to it after being forcibly teleported away by Rachel to her manor which sets the chain of events of the Six Heros route. Yet in Chornophantasma route which has higher degree of canon of what's really takes place in the story Hakumen meets Rachel in some woods which she discusses the plan and he agrees. It ends there without going into any further explanation of what happen in that route which I guess assumes you read the Six Heroes route. Which would of had make sense if the stuff didn't contradict the order events so heavily.
