Silent Hill 2 is my all time favorite horror game and it's in my top ten favorite games of all time.

Question. Have you played Silent Hill 1-3? If so, what did you think? If not, you've some new homework now. Atmosphere is a huge factor in any game for me, I always try to find the games with the best atmosphere. For me, the Silent Hill games, especially 2, redefined video game atmosphere.

It eventually devolves into that, but the first like ~10 hours I played DayZ were some of the most immersive and scariest hours I've ever played in a game.
I've played Silent Hill 2, Alien Isolation, Amnesia, REMaster, Dead Space, Outlast, none of them even came close to the same level of tension and fear that those first few awkward hours of DayZ brought.

Personally, I got over 2 pretty easily. For me, it was 3 that still gnaws at my mind.
I really really really want to know more about Valtiel and the cranks. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced Valtiel is actually the real God of Silent Hill, and that everything that happens is according to his design and from his power.
I know this apparently breaks canon, what with his placement of hierarchy, but there's just something about him that screams all powerful entity, even more than the God, the Red Pyramid, Samael, Metatron, Xuchilbara and Lobsel Vith.

No man I get it, Valitel fucked me up too, but for some reason SH2 resonated with me on a much deeper level than 3 did. All three were great games (four was too and I'll debate that until the day I die), but 2 just stuck with me. It was so powerful and I connected with the characters and story more than I did with 3.
