I'm at some kind of dilemma. On paper, it seems to be the best. But I can't find any motivation to finish this piece of shit. On the other hand, I've beaten DS3 over 10 times and can't stop playing even though the bosses are easy as shit and half of them are gimmick fights.

Now that's not really true. The game starts in day time and it moves to increasingly different locales and nightmares.
It's definitely not my favorite Souls game though. There's too few systems. It's a lot simpler than even Demon's Souls, and it's not good enough as an action game to be satisfying without the RPG mechanics. That with the linearity and all of the intresting weapons being in the second half of the game (and worse than the axe anyway) killed the replayability for me.
Also why is insight so shit? It's a game about cosmic horrors and deep ones and the sanity effects are garbage.

Bloodborne had the bonus of having an entirely new setting to work with. Dark Souls 3 looked nice visually but I feel like they were a little short on creativity and each area just felt like an area from a previous Souls game.
For example I was running through Grand Archives and that was pretty much Cainhurst Castle in terms of design. It even had gargoyles and annoying midget enemies.
Really dug the bosses in 3, though, especially after the halfway point. There were some real shit ones like Deacons of the Deep or the big ass tree, but middle-late game had some pretty good boss fights

Lore is pretty sparse but generally tight. If there were more of it I would agree unequivocally. More NPCs, more dialogue, maybe another area or two just to really flesh shit out.
Atmosphere is fantastic, well built, and consistent. Only a few areas in DeS and DaS really come close.
Also has the best weapons by miles. Easily.

Absolutely. For a game released in 2015, it has absolutely superb design. Honestly the level design alone is just sublime. Then you add the art direction, tighter combat, excellent story/lore, the best DLC in recent memory, etc.
It's not really a contest honestly. Subjectively I can understand if someone doesn't like the setting and prefers Dark Souls, but it's objectively the best designed souls games.

Chalice dungeons and blood gems were incredible missteps.

Just not even close to as good as the others.
Atmosphere wise yes, but bloodborne really put style over substance content wise. The areas are tiny, especially conpared to ds3, and the items and equipment are lacking especially without the old hunter dlc. Atmosphere and setting are top notch, content wise feels a little starved compared to the three souls games.
I played it for some hours again after doing my third playthrough of DaS3.
