I never even considered playing any Star Fox game after SF64 because Adventures wasn't a shooter in Arwings, and Assault was said to not have enough Arwing levels. (Command slipped by unnoticed because I don't play handhelds)
I don't mind changing things up with other vehicles, but piloting an Arwing needs to be the central focus of a Star Fox game and I have no clue why anyone at Nintendo thought it was a good idea to deviate from that.
As far as I'm concerned this is the first new Star Fox game in 19 years.
