Hi /v/, I´m about to start this saga starting for the first Soul Reaver, and I´ve been recomended to play them like this:
Soul Reaver, Soul Reaver 2, Blood Omen 2 and Defiance (everybodo told me to skip the first Blood Omen because they say it´s shit and not essential to the story)
Never played any of them (except for the first SR demo on psone, but that was a long long long time ago), are they worth playing nowadays? Any tips?By the way, I have a mega link including those games in the same .iso, if anyone is interested

The SECOND Blood Omen is the most inconsequential part of the whole thing. The First Blood Omen plays a huge role in practically everything in the series.

They are SUPER dated unfortunately, but they have a really interesting story.
To be honest I would rather suggest watching a playthrough.

Blood omen 1 is fucking fantastic mate, and it's got some of the best dungeon crawling and voice acting in a video game. Skip bo2 though.

Play blood omen 1. It's actually good, the story of it is very important. Blood omen 2 is shit, but the gameplay is sort of okay.

This. Gameplay and looks are not quite what they were back then. Still, if you can stand it, play it for the story and voice acting porn.
So I´m going to start playing Blood Omen then, but looking at the screens, it looks like some kind of Diablo, would you compare it to Diablo?

It's the other way around. Blood Omen is essential and Blood Omen 2 is almost like a spin-off that everyone pretends doesn't exist.
Play Blood Omen 1 then Soul Reaver 1. Forget everything else.

the first blood omen is dated, but ALL the games are dated, and it is definitely essential to the story,its the backbone of it, and it establishes kain and some other characters for the rest of the series
im not saying is a phenomenal game, its extremely clunky, one of the clunkiest games ive ever played, but its worth playing
pc version might be better if it loads faster
