Sharp Estoc + 10 R1 Stunlocks almost every mob to death, decent sweep R2 for packs, Weapon art is great for poking shield enemies.
Only other weapon I use is Dragonslayer Swordspear for the sick weapon art, wrecks anything with low lightning resist.

Seriously what the fuck? It should be straight Cs or be a DDBB when fully upgraded. Dancer's Swords should be a staple weapon for pyromancy builds but they completely ruin it with those awful stats.

He probably means in comparison to other weapons, straight swords or thrusting swords do the same amount of damage, but are much faster and take less stamina. I need 4 pokes with the Estoc for Silver Knights, that takes maybe 20% of my stamina

I try my very best not to spam r1 in pvp like a faggot. I like the back step thrust weapon art and sometimes find uses for the forward r1 but losing the kick is a drawback. Destroys in pvp and pve.

Longer Reach, higher base damage, less scaling, less critical, though the rapier only has 110 critical anyway.
The damage with 40 dex isn't that different between the two, but the longer reach allows for better counter-hits, and then you just spam R1 after scoring one counter hit.

I used these up until Dancer when I switched to Sellsword Twinblades. The ring that increases damage with consecutive attacks was really good with them but as I got later in the game it just wasn't enough.
I havent finished the game but did they ever explain why andre is still alive?
I mean seathe did a lot of fucked up experiment just to be immortal while character like andre gets to live long as fuck.

It's actually pretty good, I used it for a bit and had some success (especially with carthus rouge) but switched to a different weapon.
Reason why you don't see it because it's kinda an inbetween weapon, it's not as fast as the straight swords but not as slow as the greatswords. Same with the damage.Oh and I guess the low drop rate on one of the most annoying enemies in the game is also a reason why.

The problem is that all the weapons with quick step on them just kind of suck. Maybe bandits knife gets better when you have 50 luck and hollow infusion but theres no way to get that before you've killed like half the bosses in the game anyway.

They do a lot of damage for how fast they attack and their ability makes it OP in PvP. Your oppponent will never block if you have the stam drain ring. It goes up to B scaling at rank 3 or 4, one of the strongest weapons by far.

I'm convinced that the vast majority of people who write off heavy weapons as being bad either don't know about charging heavy attacks or don't use it. The running attack and rolling attack of heavy weapons also have some strange properties (running attacks seem to do strangely high damage and stagger, rolling has massive armor and hitbox)

The scaling might still be "D" but dexterity and strength add to physical dark and fire damage now.
Points are best spent dex>str>int>fth
Faith only adds 1 damage per point while dex and str add 3-5
That being said, the spin's infinite stun lock is the only redeeming aspect of the weapons.

I got these up to +3 and am currently in between the abyss watchers area and cathedral of the deep. They're fun, but because they're starter weapons it makes me feel like if I invest anymore into them then i'm going to be left with not enough upgrade materials when I find another twin blades set.

Muh /profaned/ nyukkas. I love how it doesn't require or scale off any magic stats. The fire is just a straight damage buff, so you can just go quality and stack pure AR. Motherfuckers think they can step to me, bait them out with a Stomp then juggle them when they try to come in for a poke with their dinky estoc/ straight sword. Shit's so fucking strong and is even good against damage sponge enemies in PvE. Rolling 1HR1 is also a poke, and is much faster than 2HR2 poke, I use it sometimes to poke back other heavy weapon users after I dodge through their attack.
Be careful though, the endlag on the super fire flip is long as fuck. Any smart person will try to backstab you if you miss. I recommend baiting with a few Stomps, and if they dodge into you, just R2 and watch glorious DaS3 animation tracking do the rest, hitting them as soon as they come out of iframe. The danger is whiffing the attack too early, before they actually dodge, so it doesn't track them.

You're confused my dear anon. There's only two builds in the whole game. Hp and atk and Hp and magic. The specifics are just for what flavor you feel like playing as.
If you use Dex, pump dex, if you use Strength, pump strength, if you use magic, pump int, if you use miracles, pump faith. Don't forget to put points into Endurance if you are melee heavy or FP if you are magic heavy every now and again. That's it. If you want to respec, Rosaria covenant leader can respec you when you join their covenant, you only need to join once to get the respecs and you don't need to stay with them. Location for Rosaria is online.

I've just been using a Refined Broadsword for...just about the whole game.
Messed around with some greatswords and the Irithyll Straight Sword for a while, but by the time I had it upgraded to +7, Refined Broadsword had the best stats out of anything I've found thus far.

Shit cause you won't get enough attacks in pvp to cause the effect procs and the procs from special weapon effects drain resources that could have gone to increasing your base damage.

Yeah, you fucked up. You found a decent item then buffed it so much, that every other weapon at base doesn't compare. This is the frog in the well syndrome. "My thing is all I know so it must be the best!"
Straight swords do the most damage in the shortest amount of time currently, this is a fact. A 10+ Straight sword with a Refined, Heavy or Sharp gem with a magic buff are the strongest weapons in game. Don't be fooled into fire, dark, lighting etc. Being able to buff a weapon pushes it ahead of the elemental gems.

Usually I keep a rapier in my offhand, rather than a shield for style and parrying and a quick poke if I need it. Do we know if the increased damage to hollows counts on players? Because I just demolished a guy in Irithyll with it, way more damage than I'm used to on a player.

In what way? It's incredibly short and hard to use in PvP. You have to bait niggas into your hitbox and then hope they don't flip over your R2 poise check.
Meanwhile, most level 60ish PvP everyone have Uchi or Washing Pole or (even better) Estoc spamming.
Astora Greatsword ,reinforced to +6 and infused it to refined. PVP wise it's absolutely lovely to use with it's long range thrust attack and does great amount of damage if you do a sprint/roll attack.
Quite decent at PVE but slow to use but I have a trusty +6 Claymore which is perfect for my strength build.

No split damage for one, which is a plus in my book, especially on fire. It matches the firelink greatsword for phsyical damage at +3, and scales D and C for str and Dex, making it a dex favored greatsword, and an alternative to the curved greatswords if they're not your thing.
It also has it's own unique four attack moveset that is a little faster than your normal greatsword twohanded moveset, especially between r2 and r3. It will deal 50% more damage to hollows (though I'm unsure if that includes players, I've yet to see anyone test it, since apparently only four people use the thing)
It's also fly as fuck.

I use Bloodlust pretty much exclusively. And if you manage to pull off a sudoku mid fight you'll get a ridiculous damage boost for about 15 seconds.

70-80 is the cutoff point for invasions. As for straight up pvp It'll be 100 to 100 plus. Pyro builds and caster builds aren't functional at 80 without being gimped to all shit and pure builds have an overwhelming advantage.

Nah, I'm not going into NG+ with this character since I'm using him for the DLC. I don't want another Bloodborne situation where I haven't even started the DLC because I had no motivation to play the game through again.
My weaponfu since the first game, other stuff are cool but i just cant drop the claymore.
Wish i could find a good dual weapon, they all seem to be weaker than average.

I'm SL100 and getting pretty much nonstop red orb invasions at the Grand Archives. I got my 30 shackles, tongues, and sunlight medals over the last couple of days that way.
Went back to the area after Pontiff Sulyvahn and managed to invade someone first try there as well.

80 is the cutoff because its still within the range that people will probably be at in lothric castle. Out of all the places to invade, that place is the most dangerous for phantoms and hosts. Everything there hits insanely hard and is aggressive along with some really fucking nasty ambushes.

Idiots defend the system, its 100% stacked in the host favor this time around, complete opposite of DS1.
If you couldn't seed while you had phantoms, if you couldn't continue to summon phantoms while invaded past what you already had this game would be in a much better state. I routinely kill a few phantoms each invasion, but no matter what I end up facing a train of summons as the host runs away with 15 estus,
