I beat him on my sixth try, but it was a fucking miserable experience. There are bosses in the Souls games that took me over a dozen attempts to beat, but Aldrich pissed me off far more than they did. The worst part is that when I did win, it felt more like I had lucked out because he had taken it easy on the teleport+bullet hell spam and didn't try using the instant-death arrows as much as before.
Every other playthrough I do of this game from now on, I'm saving this asshole for last.

Like goddammit it took me more time to beat Pontiff and the Watchers. That fucking arrowstorm is bullshit! I came really close twice and finally beat him like an hour later. All of those times he didn't spam his arrows as much.
The worst part is that there are two variations. The one that follows you and then the one that just has a big area. I dunno if there's a single way to tell them apart.

The best strategy (that I found) is to get close to him and once he does a melee strike he'll be vulnerable. In his second phase your survival is based solely on how you dodge that shitty fucking arrow rain, or if RNG is merciful and he doesn't do it. I beat him that way eventually.

Just charge him relentlessly, sprint around a pillar when he uses arrows, and roll away from magic attacks.
Its easy to run from the bonfire straight to him so just go for quantity over quality, spam him until you get lucky. This boss really is just a crapshoot considering how sometimes hell combo with arrows and other attacks so you cant escape and die instantly.

Once you hear the audio of him coming up after teleporting spint in that direction and bash the shit out of his tail. It will interrupt whatever spell he's casting and force him to use a melee attack. Also use the Farron or Artorias swords because those do crazy damage to him.

This is the only boss I summoned on in NG. In subsequent NG++ playthroughs, the victory was luck and the fact that he didn't spam arrow rain back to back in the final phases.
This is also the first area in the game that I started to call bullshit on. The silver knights that can L I T E R A L L Y switch the direction of their weapon and spin 360 degrees mid swing got me really fucking salty really fast.

Really the arrow rain is this bad for you guys? Just roll out of the way in his first form. Done it doesn't come back. Where it chases you in the second form, you should notice he normally does it right after he teleports, Dodge out if the way the first time and sprint around at sharp angles to avoid it until it ends. you shouldn't really be running out of stamina unless you're an idiot who put all his points into vigor and vit instead of your stamina.
I'm not sayin he is easy, but after a couple times of dyin to his arrow storm you should be able to figure that much out like I did. Good boss once you stop raging over this and realize it's not that much of a hindrance.
I was cheesed by his quick and non-stop dark soul spear and died once.

Keep close as much as you can. Roll when he hits, keep your distance when he fades into the ground.
When you see him triggering that fucking arrow shower, sprint left or right, but try to come close to him at the same time, or else he'll throw that powerful fast blue magic ball.
In the second part don't change your approach, but try not to stand in his flames when you attack.
He's easy, but that fire arrow barrage made him harder than he should normally be.

Took me two tries. When he does arrow rain don't full, run. Just hold down run button until it ends. It can't but you when you're running. The rest of his attacks are easy to dodge. If he tries meleeing you it's so slow and easy to dodge you can get in many hits before he recovers.

The way I understood them is thatusurping the Fire makes humanity physically stay in their true form as hollows, but apparently not go insane. Or at least the ones who are hollow at the moment. One of the dark miracle items mentions that they bring salvation to hollows, but simultaneously doom all other living beings so I guess usurping the Fire has some sort of similar effect on the whole world / human race.
Ending the Fire just fucks the order of the world up,probably causes humanity to eventually go to mindless hollows, return to the world of archtrees before Gwyn linked the fire but there's the sliver of chance that something new might be born in the future. F.ex. Aldrich's covenant and boss soul descriptions mention him wishing an Age of Deep Waters, though it could be something else. Ending the Fire probably also saves the player character somehow, since both the description of the Firekeeper soul and after you give the Eyes of the Firekeeper away she mentions about the main character finding their own peace. Somehow. At least you get to be with 10/10 waifu.
I have no ideawhat is going with the evil version of the Dark ending where you kill the Firekeeper, or what the player character is even attempting there.
I didn't find him that difficult, then again I figured out pretty quick that in his second phase, you should immediately start sprinting as soon as he readies his bow for arrow rain.

This guy? Took me 3 tries. Would have taken me 2 but I didn't realize his knife thing started homing on you after he embers on the second go. All you need to do is wait half a second where he disappeared then run to the opposite corner. He'll appear on you and won't be able to cast anything too dangerous. Try to beat up his tail and staying close to his body keeps you in range of some attacks. Also don't get hit by the life steal shit.

Rush the tail and sprint as soon as phase 2 arrow rain comes down. That's it.
I don't understand how people unironically think this is hard. His most powerful abilities are his ranged ones so just stay close. If you stand at the tail the fire aoe cannot reach you so all you need to do is dodge his 5 second telegraphed charge.
You're essentially invincible in this fight until he uses arrow rain in phase 2. I just ran in a direction until it stopped.
Reminds me of how much I hate that nameless King fuck, I can sit in his boss room and not get hit all day, but that's the infuriating part, I'm just sitting there waiting for him to land so I can peck him with an arrow since a melee attack on the dragon head is a low probability.
He's not the hardest buy god damn is he the most annoying since 90% of the fight is waiting for the dragon to land and praying it's head isn't up when you go for that swing

Jesus christ, Twin Princes is the best boss in the souls games. Fun, challenging, dynamic but not too fast and really atmospheric. Also music is godtier. My only complaint is the zoom on the cutscene, it shows how retarded the textures are.
Also Nameless King, Abysswatchers and Champion Gundyr are awesome.

The health drain only starts at the end of the animation where they light the lantern, and only in front of them. So just run behind them and kill them.
The big pile at the end of the level is where you'll have to suck it up. Jailers are weenies who get stunlocked to death though, so you should only be wasting a single estus flask on the lot of them. That and a couple throwing knives/arrows.

I beat him first try on NG+ with a +10 heavy greataxe. He's not hard if you know what you're doing and stay close to him.
Here's a tip for staying close to him even when he teleports:When he disappears, he will automatically "choose" the farthest location to spawn away from you. You'll typically be fighting him in a corner. After he disappears, start running to the opposite corner. If you did it right, he'll appear in the corner and finish the wakeup animation as you reach him.
Beat Aldrich on the first try. Beat Sulyvahn around the 4th try.Abyss Watchers took tens of tries over two days.

This isn't supposed to be a "OH LOOK AT ME" but a more so "why is this shit"
I can understand why the bosses kill so many too, its not due to no skill, its due to shit AI.
For example, Ocierous, "or whatever, Mister Dragon begging for his Ocelot"
Once he enters phase 2 he begins to randomly spam attacks that are designed to just kill you whenever, however, by any means. A few bosses have these similar attacks, the first boss for example, just starts going ape shit and charging at you at high speeds. He telegraphs his more though, Dragonpants does not. He can be standing there and BOOM he runs then BOOM runs and glitches out on the slant of floor then BOOM teleports.
Lothric does this as well with the teleporting.
I think the Lord of Cinder is a pretty fair boss fight minus the one hit kill super sword sweep which even hit boxes behind him.
tl;dr this is a horrible Souls game but has pretty good music.

What? The Dragon almost constantly keeps its head down at melee range whenever it's not flying. It's especially easy to land free hits when it's breathing fire. You can even target the head separately to make hitting it easier.
I don't know if you just happen to have a weapon that for some reason doesn't reach the head properly, but I had no problem with the first phase with my Butcher Knife.

Use a partizan.
Sprint around the arena until he does his sword stab/slam. Hit him 2-3 times and roll out as he will tele. Rinse and repeat. Its helpful to use stam. Regen items since his magic will eat through it. Also run from his arrow storms, never dodge.

The only bosses that are remotely a challenge in DaS3 is dancer, soul of cinder, twin princes, and storm king.
Who else here was stupid enough to not use Stormruler and killed Yhorm the regular way instead? I knew it was an important weapon for the fight since DeS was the same, but I didn't realize to charge it fully and thought that you had to upgrade it first. When I saw it took Titanite Scales I said fuck it and killed him with Butcher's Knife.
You can actually perform a similar type of riposte-like grab attack on his face like you can do to Nameless King's Stormdrake or some other big enemies, if you manage to break Yhorm's balance by attacking his feet enough. The special attack actually does a decent amount of damage to him.

Only change is during the second phase you need to not roll from the arrows but run from them. Just run in as straight a direction as you can and then be ready to roll a few times near the end of the arrows because he'll usually try to shoot a beam at you if you get far enough away.
Whenever the arrows are cast in the second phase don't do anything but run from them, if you try to get hits on the boss or try to roll around the arrows you're going to take damage or die.
Artificial difficulty at its finest. You have to die several times before the difficulty is lowered and is arrows arnt spamed. Took me about 4-5. Tries

The normal snuffing the flame ending is the exact same thing as the Dark Lord ending of DaS save for the serpents sucking your dick. The fire keeper snuffs out the flame and you enter the age of dark with the returned implication from DaS 2 that at some point the flames will burn bright again.
The alternate ending changes your intentions from most likely doing it to finally give the world balance again to just doing it to be a huge fucking dick and take the little embers that are left for yourself.
The Hollow Lord ending is turning the first flame into the dark soul/human essence/etc as a means to finally break the chain (that' never worked in the past so don't hold your breath) and to presumably rule over the hollows as the qualities of the first flame would probably be different.

Either way it wasn't hard once I knew how to charge it, just equip the carthus bloodring and enjoy never being hit ever.
Also if you hit the bosses head with the charge he drops down to his knees and gives you enough time to charge it again. The charge stays saved up so you can just roll away and wait until you can target his head again.

I find it funny how so many people have so different amounts of trouble with completely different bosses, save for perhaps Pontiff who almost everyone seems to have struggled with. I for one found Aldrich easy (died only on my first try to the surprising arrow storm) even when I wasn't using fire. Just don't use lock-on, then hug his "tail" so his attacks have trouble reaching you.
The bosses I remember struggling with the most were Pontiff and Champion Gundyr, who both took at least a dozen, maybe two dozen tries. And Yhorm because I was the retard who didn't figure out how to use the Stormruler. I beat Ludex Gundyr, Old Demon King, Crystal Sage, Deacons, Oceiros and Abyss Watchers on my first try.

This was the case for me with Pontiff. I beat him after a while when he didn't go into his infinite combo with his stand that I couldn't kill fast enough when he spawned it but I got no joy out of it. 90% of his attacks were just 270 degree sweeps with perfect tracking and he also took a two meter step forward with every attack. I'm pretty ashamed to admit, but I went back and farmed for a Dark Sword and leveled it up and added heavy to it so I could fight that boss.
I kept practicing with summons but my sword swung too slow and took too much stamina. Also the fact I was bare ass naked due to it's weight didn't help since a lot of this boss you just cannot dodge cleanly.
Only boss I've had serious trouble with is Nameless King. I did die a few times more than I expected to second Gundyr though.
