So it looks like VII got two new DLC characters this week based on God Eater and some other thing that I'd never heard of. I have no idea why they would do this like three months after the game came out, but has anyone taken the bait? I don't want to buy them and then not use them, since I'm done with the game, but I'm kinda curious what they can do.

Just get the latest one, or the second-to-latest one if you want to check out the series cheap. Each game is a major improvement on the last, but they are all pretty similar and aren't really connected by plot or anything. I like the Neptunia games enough to let it scratch my JRPG itch every once in a while, but if I had to play the games all back-to-back, I'd probably kill myself.

Protip: 'Gamindustri Ultimate Armor Set Type-A' is the only essential DLC in the game. Bloodthirsty Rosary is so broken that it turns anyone into a soloing monster. Shame the high damage works both ways.

I'm pretty sure it's impossible to plat the first game at this point anyway, since it involves leaderboard shit (which should give you an idea of how bafflingly awful that one is), and I doubt the servers would still be up.
