As for the topic, let's be honest, people will play both and enjoy both, this cycle always happens. Seriously. There may be inspirations from KH, but these engines for both the remake and XV are designed with multiple variations. Skill trees, multiple counters and team up attacks for the buddy system in XV, and a variation of the ATB for 7R.
I especially love the way magic works for XV, given added consequences (and sometimes unintentional humor) in using it, swamplands freeze and constrict enemies, fire spreads uncontrollably around grasslands (the amount of times people will die to overusing it will be hilarious).
Just all around interesting spins that the devs don't get enough credit for because the fanbase is squabbling about turn based or no turn based.

Remember how the party fought in Advent Children, it was acrobatic dancing all over the place, with 50 foot jumps. Tifa in particularly will likely have some sort of command grab system or be how she fought in Ehrgeiz.
They mentioned before unlike XV, they will be going for the more hokey, super unrealistic type stuff more for 7R. So maybe Tifa suplex in mechs will still be a thing. Though buff up her design a bit, she was trained by Zangief-or rather Zangan, for chrissakes, put some muscle on her.

In XV the main character can teleport for very specific story reasons. He's also the only one who can do that; his party is very much tied to the ground. Unless Nomura goes full retard with VIIR, I don't really see how teleporting would work in VII, considering even XV uses it very sparingly.
