GT5 was buggy as hell at the launch and the loading times were insufferable. It got a little better after a few patches, but the damage was already done.

I like to use the Caterhams and Lotus. Outside of the kart-mode in GT5, they're the closest to emulating that karting feeling in Gran Turismo.
GT6 is the best, desu. Shame GT5 killed the hype so hard it basically sabotaged GT6.

Will PD release an updated version of their coffee table booklet that was included in the collector's edition? That booklet was very informative and made for a nice read when you're free or in the toilet. They should really make it more high quality though, the pages are so easily torn from the spine it's ridiculous.

I've played all GT but the 1st one and trust me GT6 is shit. The graphics and physics of the game are the best but they really didn't make it as entertaining. The star system is terrible and licenses were pure shit.
But it's still the online challenges and Senna and the hill climb were great but the main core of the game is terrible in comparsion to GT4 or 3.GT Academy was a huge step up tho

I started playing GT with 3, and have never understood the love for the Escudo. Yeah it's a missile in a straight line, but can't turn to save it's life. I'm faster around tracks with the R390 on super hard tires and un-modded engine.
I went back and played GT2, and still found it no match for the R390 or TS020, especially in races with tire wear.
I'll tell you what I really miss though, are teh Formula cars from GT3. You felt like Superman when you managed to keep the F687/S in a straight line long enough win the FGT championship.

I've got solid golds on every race/test/event from GT 2-6, and Plat trophies in 5 and 6.
Go try the final S test in GT3 (TS020 on Monaco) and see if you can match my laptime of 1:25.6. Gold medal bar is set at 1:31.0.
I spent hours on the Escudo's setup trying to get it to stop understeering when I put any power down mid corner. I honestly find that with most 4WD. On the flip side, I can get any of the MR cars to absolutely sing for me. Only thing I can figure is that I need to approach it with far more of a slow in fast out mentality.

The Escudo is, according to the car description, an uphill time attack car, built specifically for the Pikes peak uphill back when most of it was a dirt road. It's meant to go fast on straights and fast sideways. It's not a GT car for race circuits. BHP isn't what makes a car gud.

Yeah, I do want higher cornering speeds. I want that because I'd rather win a race in the twisties than down the main straight. It's more fun to win with a weaker car than the competition. Take the 78 lap Monaco endurance, where the AI uses the R390/TS020/787B. I could go in with the same, adding a turbo so I've got 1100hp against their 680, and destroy them by 5 laps purely on straight line speed. I find it far more rewarding to win that race in a 450hp Castrol Mugen NSX on super hard tires. When your HP is that far below the AI, you need to be able to corner like a cat on velcro, even when your gears are so tight that you redline 6th at 220km/h.

They weren't as bad in GT 2 and 3. 2 hours at most. It's 4 and 5 where they went overboard on race length. At least 4 had the option of B-spec at 3x speed. I didn't do the GT5 Aspec enduros until they added the save during pit-stop feature. With that I'd do 2-3 hours per day, and win the race over the course of 2 weeks.

I don't want to say Gran Turismo 6 is the best Gran Turismo, but it was the most playable for me. Every car in the game is unlocked and purchasable in the unified dealership, plus the PS3 era has the best driving physics out of the entire series. Not delayed and swashy like GT3, not tank-like and understeering like GT4. PS3 games were grippy when you want them to be, and throw the rear end out if you want it. Vision GT is a fun box of "this isn't even my final form" cars.
