You could probably use charged R2s on most enemies, it's just significantly more effective to spam R1 in any situation where you have the time to fully charge up

Watchers is probably the easiest fight in the game. You're almost guaranteed to have NPCs tanking for you, even if you didn't summon, and in the second phase idiot sets your backstabs up for you, you just have to press the button

After Bloodstarved Beast and Ameila, you get so many options and get the option of amazing gems that the game becomes trivial until you meet up with Marty (if you're bad at parrying) , and then again with Laurence (if you have the DLC) and then Gehrman (if you don't know how to parry)

After Amelia, the only boss I ended up dying more than ocne times was Gehrman and Laurence. I beat Shadows, Rom, Marty, Ludwig, Maria, Amygdala, Orphan, Micolash on my first try.

I would just roll right towards him and get a few good shots on both him and his shadow. I find the older games the bosses are more telegraphed, almost in a monster hunter sort of way. The newer games, the bosses are more fluid and harder to predict in some cases. Still, once you get a boss down they still are noticeably telegraphing their moves in some cases.

The second they read one they go into the followup, if they don't its random wether they use the followups or not. I mostly shielded - greatshield once I got Black Iron - and used longsword, bastard sword, greatsword, and finally Profaned Greatsword. I think it's pretty important to list gear and playstyle when talking about how difficult you found bosses, it goes a long way toward explaining things. I had so much trouble with greatwood and sage because I was using that shitty bastard sword.

Yep thats the only boss I never bothered killing. The area before it is huge, repetitive and retarded. The fight itself is over if you screw up one dodge and you have to do it all again. Getting your guard brokens will get you fucked up and even avoiding that the amount of chip damage that goes through most shields is just bonkers.
