Having a support network of people who care about you is crucial for ending depression, but that doesn't mean saying nice shit to them is what will help. What is it about suicide that makes people go full retard? You have a person who's lost the will to live whether it be from tragic loss, abuse, chemical imbalance, etc., and the first thing people do is rag on them for being selfish.
