The superior battery life, screen, performance on some games, and size are all good enough for me. Especially considering it will come accompanied with the dozens of 3DS games Ipirated. Meanwhile, your GreatnessBox 4.5 is still at a sum total two (2) games after releasing MGSV, Dark Souls 3, and Bloodborne, while removing Project Terror.

Got it solely for the analog stick for use in Monster Hunter 4. The improved performance of MH4 on the N3DS XL was just a bonus.

Extra performance on some games is nice
Perfect GBC, GBA and SNES emulation is nice too, and the better performance in Retroarch is a plus.

I saw this coming so I waited with my 3DS purchase.
It was worth it for the 1000 hours I put in MH4U alone. And now I have it hacked for region free and the overclocking is neat, it's not an amazing boost to older games, but I don't notice framedrops in most games anymore plus faster loading times.

I just needed a new 3DS because my old one was 4 years old and the circle pad was starting to fall apart.
The main upgrade for me was being able to play DS games in original aspect ratio without it looking like a postage stamp. Official SNES support is also nice.
Definitely not worth upgrading for if you just want to access the exclusive content.

Nobody buys it that isn't going to hack it. Basically the CPU runs at 4X the clock speed and has 4 cores instead of the original 2 (and also double the RAM iirc). It also has L2 and R2 buttons, which are very useful in homebrew and such that utilizes it. Basically it's just a more powerful 3DS built for tinkerers. Also the build quality is way nicer; it feels WAY better just in general in the hands.
