Nah man. I'm fine with the game now, but I've been a fan of the series since the day Demon's Souls released, and I was really hyped for 2 when it came out. I even went back and played through Demon's and Dark Souls, one after the other, in the week or two leading up to its release.
When it came out and I started playing, I found myself completely uninterested, which was pretty unprecedented since DeS and DaS had me enthralled the moment I started (as did Bloodborne, and now DaS3). I still have my first character, whose playtime remains only 2 hours. The biggest red flag for me was those old ladies at the beginning saying "and yes, you will die" or whatever it was. I think the retarded Prepare To Die marketing was dumb, so seeing it in the game itself had me worried. Then the environments were incredibly bland, which prevented me from wanting to explore.
The final blow for me was the Agility stat though. Now that I know I have to pump 50 points into ADP in order to dodge dagger swipes that come within a few meters of my character, the game became playable, though it was still a rather ugly and confusing ordeal.

Yeah, I couldn't find a good angle, and I think my character's too thick to make it work. But I got sick of wearing the Fallen Knight Set and that combination gives me a nice blue, white, and silver color scheme.

I genuinely dreaded every second I spent slogging through it. Interestingly, a lot of my complaints are still present in DSIII (fast travel from the get-go, needing to talk to woman to level up instead of just being able to do it at any bonfire, and a few more) but I didn't have a problem with them here because the game isn't fundamentally fucked like in DSII. The levels are interesting enough to engage me this time around, and the gameplay actually has weight to it again.
I think my biggest problem in DSII were the animations. I still can't get used to that walk animation. It feels like you're floating one inch above the ground at all times instead of actually making contact with the floor, and the attacks feel like they have no weight to them because the only weapons that seem to do any poise damage are clubs.

FROM doesn't give a fuck about PVP balance but they tend to crack down on the really flagrantly OP PVE stuff, I wouldn't be too surprised if we see a big rebalance patch that nerfs those spells, Dark Sword and hopefully buffs up some of the less good weapons.

I kinda felt like you don't get very much by putting points into endurance in this game.
Leveling it up it usually said that it only went up by 1 or maybe 2 points stamina so you could just use the chloranthy ring instead especially once you find the +3 version
