Are there any racing simulators where I can drift down mountain paths? I have G27.
>>

>tfw never play racing games but want an easy game you can drift in for fun

nah

GRiD has some good touge shit
>>
Grid

Alternatively, Need For Speed Hot Pursuit has a good drift lenient car balance and it's fun to drift in it
>>
>>334687198
Grid's also got multiple drift modes. There's a freestyle drift tournament where you just go around an open course and drift to get the most points, "head to head" where you and another racer take turns drifting around a typical race course for points, and then drift race, where there are 8 drivers all on the course competing for drift points as well as first place (I don't remember how the scoring for that works)

It's a somewhat old game so it's easy to run, and pirating it doesn't prevent you from playing online.
>>
rFactor 2 perhaps, haven't played it myself since I don't have a wheel but you can download mountain path tracks for it.

I tried drifting in ProStreet.

Shiiiit, that stuff is so scripted it's not even any fun.

Actual "racing sims" are hard to come by.

GRID is pretty great.
Fuck the sequels though.
>>
The only racing games on pc are the shitty ones on steam and japanese indie games, the indie games are superior but good luck finding them :(

Wheres my initial d or maximum impact port ;__;

I cry
>>
OP here, I knew simulators are scarce. Thanks for trying though. maybe I try GRiD, I have it in my library.
>>
Mario Kart is the best drifting game. No other games have satisfying drifting mechanics, just feels like you're cars turning funny.

what about dirt rally? It has pikes peak
>>
>>334687020
Assetto corsa is a good sim
>>
>>334689392
Dirt rally is great but it's not drifting at all, just flying around turns and praying to whatever God you believe in that you don't roll off the side of a mountain.

Drifting in racing sims just isn't fun, grid has some excellent drifting though.

iRacing, rFactor, RaceRoom, Automobilista, and Assetto Corsa are all great sims, but the only ones with good drift suport are probably AC and iRacing.

Dirt Rally is good for drifting too but its more of a simcade, not really a full sim.

>DIRT STONES AND NO FUCKING GRIP IF YOU FUCK UP YOU DIE

>pikes peak now

I remember the customization being the only good thing about ProStreet.
>>
>>334689392

Outrun then. Easy drifting for days, arcade as fuck.
>>
>>334690792
That AC clip was the shit man, thanks.

>>334690164
I have been playing dirt rally now, and it is a great game but rally doesn't satisfy my drifting needs.

which grid is that? There is like Grid, and then Grid 2, and then Grid Autosport. It's confusing as fuck.
>>
>>334692451
First GRID, from 2007.
>>
>>334692451
autosport is shit, 2 is ok but not as good as the original

I know that saying this will send /v/ into a blind rage, but the latest NFS is essentially Initial D 2015.

I think people posted some webms of it before in eurobeat racing threads. It looked alright. Might give it go.

not a sim, but Drift Stage will be coming out at some point in the future

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZdXAHIQGxw
>>
Fuckin casuals, playing arcade shits and thinking its good. You should just play modded AC or somthing like that. The G27 is for real games not arcade babies first games.
>>
Even with a wheel, drifting in video games is lame as fuck.
>>
>>334694649

It's almost criminal how bad Drift Stage is to actually play.

The art is fucking great, but they REALLY, REALLY, REALLY need to bring on new programmers.
>>
>>334695739
what, the Drift Stage alpha was fun. It's incredibly arcadey, feels nothing like actual drifting, but it's genuinely fun shaving off milliseconds every lap by trying to get the perfect drift on corners

The Crew.

There's literally miles upon miles of nothing but twisty mountain roads, fuck it's pretty much all i've done for the last 30 or so hours in it.
>>
>>334694649
I've been looking forward to this and 90's Arcade Racer for far too long. I've almost given up waiting for it.
>>
>>334695991

I love that it's trying to be arcadey as fuck, but they need to go and play the likes of Outrun and unfuck their janky mechanics.
>>
>>334690531
I've been hearing this song for so long in the internet that it's impossible for me to enjoy it on its own merits without thinking of Ronald McDonald.
>>
>>334687020
There's a bunch of toe gay tracks for Assetto Corsa. The japanese car pack comes out next month, too. AE86 included.
>>
Why not just play Special Stage on PS2 or Street Stage on PSP?
