They were doing so well and since E3 2015 they've been falling and falling and falling.
In less than a year they went from my favorite to my least favorite.

Not disagreeing that NoA Ninty's been doing some questionable practices lately, but aren't most of the examples in that article related to copyright? I don't know the exact laws but it's the same way Disney shuts down fanworks because if you don't defend your copyright/trademarks you can lose ownership of them or something.

that's a myth actually
just look at SEGA, fanworks everywhere and people still buy all the mediocre Sonic games.
unless every single fanboy and normie casual somewhat realized that (and if) fanworks are 100x better than the official product, that's where they can fairly takedown stuff and hold proof this is hurting their market and merch.
but this is already seen impossible, it's highly know that fan stuff will never be as popular than what the company shits out outside cult-ish acknowledgement, which is why Disney is already trying extra jew hard to lobby Congress laws to unfairly protect their stuff from personal public usage.
