They actually did let the GBA live for a while after the DS was released. Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, Pokémon Emerald, that Yoshi motion control game. There were some notable games for GBA even after DS was released. While Wii U has already been dead for a while, the situations are different.

Why are people so obsessed with Nintendo dying? The wii U's biggest failure was the name. It's a shitty piece of hardware but so was the wii. Normies didn't buy it this time though because they didn't know it even existed. Eventually it became too late to get the Normie crowd and the wii U became less and less profitable while also losing lots of support. Nintendo knows they can't outright drop it,but they want to move on as soon as possible. For this reason we haven't seen as much good games on the wii U as we've seen on past systems. As long as the NX has good launch sales it'll be fine

The Wii U is shit. That being said, Gen 8 in general is shit and so the Wii U isn't as bad in comparison. The 8th gen will be known as the gen that consoles began to die. It will likely be the first time that the combined sales of all consoles isn't greater than the gen before. That is why I hope the NX isn't simply a regular console just strong or as strong as the PS4 . I'm hoping for some sort of quality handheld that can be used on any device or something.

Not really considering there's a fuckton of great exclusives for it, far more than for the Wii U. The real problem for the Wii was that the hardware was too weak to compete with the PS3/360 past 2009. And the online infrastructure was shit. That's why I think Nintendo fucked up by not releasing the Wii U earlier. If the Wii U was announced in 2009 and released in 2010 or maybe 2011 it probably could have been much more successful.

Honestly as long as they find a way to support backwards compatibility I will buy a NX.
I held off a long time on the xbone until it finally got some backwards compatibility but I still can't play half of my 360 games on it.
When I got a wii u I could literally toss my wii or hand it to a sibling with a few games. Even if nothing super exciting came out very early for it, a few games and BC made it worth it.
