In Dai Gyakuten Saiban, the first case's motive is never explained, the murder victim is actual Watson.
The second case victim is your friend Asogi, from a Russian chick who was trying to flee Russia after stealing some diamond shit
The third case, the guy you are defending is a dirtbag who uses money to get his way always, he ends up tampering evidence and getting a not guilty verdict. He ends up dying right after though.
The 4th case is stupid as fuck, no one actually got murdered, instead on pure accident a knife fell from a window and stabbed the victim on the back to where she went unconscious. The reason why the knife was thrown was because this guy's secret wife suspected her husband for an affair. Also "secret wife" is really fucking stupid, she is just pretending to be a maid, since they rent out their building, they don't want to look poor. THIS IS THE FILLER CASE
The 5th case, this guy you meet with the name Eggs Benedict (turns out to be a fake name) is the son of the murder victim in the 3rd case. He wanted to retrieve a disc with top secret information, the guy you defended in the 3rd case got him to create.
He was once poor but became wealthy. He realized the wealth got to his mind and he became a monster like the third defendant was. In fact, he was the one who killed the third defendant after he got a not guilty verdict. The case gets wacky when the detective was helping Benedict with false information in exchange for the disc.
