Defintely. Crysis 2 devs indulged into Call of Duty styled multiplayer. The original had power struggle which was wayyy (Lmao) better than 2's CQB maps.
Graphics on 2 are better though.
I wouldn't really say this divided the fanbase, it just strengthened the existing divide.
There's the normies who loved it more than ever because it was easier and more actiony.
There's the RE4 fans who were already disappointed by RE5 and had low expectations for this game from the first gameplay.
There's the classic RE fans who thought the series was already ruined with 4 and 6 was just the next evolution of that style.
I mean basically everyone just got what they expected out of the game. There wasn't really any arguing about it.
Then like every gameFinal Fantasy XIIIthere's a small segment of fans that just love the game for some indiscernible reason and defend it to the death anytime someone says something negative about it.
