How so? Because I absolutely love it, I'd genuinely like to hear why you think it's bad though.
Because to me the animations, deadzone, and sound, especially when modded, is excellent.
One thing I'll say right here though is that the reaction/animations of the soldiers you shoot are way better in Red Orchestra 2, especially with the death screams, wriggling and dismemberment.

Recoil and weapon climb predictable and Stale. Weapon sound not distinct and too eerie. Bullet drop felt awkward aswell.

There is a mod for insurgency that changes the m14 EBR to the classic. That's what I use.

I don't understand, normally in real life you'd get accustomed to the weapon you're using and the recoil wouldn't be a big deal unless you go full auto long range.
Hell most of the time in Insurgency you'll be in semi auto because you can't hit shit 30-60 meters away.

I'm not sure what you mean by eerie, but I'll agree the sound samples themselves are not goo good vanilla. However with just one sound mod you can have them sounding great, examples:

You what? Insurgency has hitscan, because it would gain no benefit from projectiles with these small maps.
